Where's Brett Leason from your roster???

Lafreniére-Glass-Leason would be my 1st line choice as for your team Canada.

Assuming none of the 2 remaining NHLers are released.
If Lafreniere/Leason (due to age/lack of experience at elite level tournament play) prove not yet ready for prime time, then Tippet/Comtois/or Vilardi can take their spots.

but with that team, if we are not going into the 3rd. period of the Gold Medal game +- a goal, 20 minutes to glory, then the tournament/team would be a disappointment.

McKenzie is predicting 34 players named today, which is slightly more than he predicted before. Expects Vilardi to be named. He thinks that it is "extremely doubtful" that Thomas or Rasmussen will be loaned to Canada.

Jett Woo will make the team. He leads all 99 born WHL players in +/-

There is no chance he makes it over Brook.

The second part of your post, well, he's '00 born. And even if he were '99 born, you'd still be wrong:

- Leason is leading '99 born forwards at +42
- Brayden Pachal is leading '99 born D at +33

I changed my forward group by removing Tippett after thinking about it
Alexis Lafreniere - Cody Glass - Gabriel Vilardi
Maxime Comtois - Joe Veleno - Nick Suzuki
Kirby Dach - Morgan Frost - Brett Leason
Alex Formenton - Barrett Hayton - Stelio Mattheos
If healthy in time Jaret Anderson-Dolan, otherwise Ty Dellandrea.

I prefer Dellandrea over Tippett as extra because he is more versatile. I like Foudy but his production never been that high despite his exceptional speed, so I have my reserves.
I agree with this but don’t think Dach will make it, even as one who believes he’s a clear-cut top-3 pick at this point. If Vilardi doesn’t look ready then I’m perfectly comfortable with the RWs sliding up. With Rasmussen:

Lafreniere-Glass-Vilardi
Rasmussen-Veleno-Comtois
Formenton-Frost-Leason
Foudy-Hayton-Suzuki
JAD/Dellandrea/Mattheos

Without Rasmussen:

Lafreniere-Glass-Vilardi
Comtois-Veleno-Leason
Formenton-Frost-Suzuki
Foudy-Hayron-Mattheos
JAD/Dellandrea/Studnicka

Those are some insanely well-balanced and deadly-looking lines. I’m liking the Veleno-Comtois connection and the latter showed last year he could excel on the right side. I had to shift someone over as I am dead-set on having Formenton and Foudy on the bottom two lines. That speed is not even fair and will be instrumental in checking some of the top-flight playmakers other teams will have, such as Jack Hughes, who likes to hold on to the puck a bit too much. Those players could be exploited to produce odd-man rushes if Formenton and Foudy can quickly get back and knock them off the puck before turning it up for their highly offensively-talented linemates.

My predicted camp roster:

Glass
Suzuki
Hayton
Frost
Comtois
Formenton
Lafreniere
Leason
Foudy
Tippett
Veleno
Bowers
Dellandrea
Studnicka
Mattheos
Dach
Cozens
Ratcliffe
Fix-Wolansky
JAD

Bouchard
Dobson
Smith
Joseph
Brook
Mitchell
Beaudin
Merkley
Woo
Bernard-Docker
McIssac

DiPietro
Scott
Rodrigues
Villalta

Vilardi if he counts.

I’m really excited to see Lafrenerie at the World Juniors. He’s the best winger we’ve had come along in a number of years, just a special player.

you'd be better off expecting little from 17 year olds at this tournament. That way you won't be disappointed in whatever they do. Remember Nate MacKinnon's 1 assist in 6 games in '13?

This would be pretty close to my lineup as well I think. Probably put Leason on the second line and get rid of Tippett (Ive never been a fan but he does score goals). The size combo of Leason and Comtois with the skill of Glass would be a really good first line in this tourney, being Canadas second line potentially is wild. Ratcliffe might find his way onto my roster instead of Studnicka.

I think you have the top 6 D nailed down and I like those pairings for the most part but I think if an NCAA dman makes the team itll be Mitchell. Hes older and its not like Bernard-Docker is a really high pick like a Makar or something to make up for that. Similar calibre prospects but one has the age advantage.

Goalies look good to me

Do you think Benoit Olivier Groulx, Antoine Morand, and/or Raphael Lavoie might have a chance in making the team?

I would guess no on all 3. I think Lavoie might be the closest but hes still really young and Lafreniere will already be there as a young guy. Too many centers ahead of BO Groulx as well. Hes not ahead of Glass, Frost, Suzuki, Hayton, Veleno, Dellandrea or Bowers. Thats not counting Rasmussen or Thomas coming back from the NHL either.

I think Lavoie has a big role next year though

Really hoping at least one of tDach/Cozens/Byram gets a selection.

Will they give Thomas a selection even if STL is unlikely to loan him?

Damn only Lavoie & Suzuki. And guess that's a no on the Thomas side

Couple surprises but all 22 guys I have on my current team we’re listed, so a couple guys off the edges isn’t too shocking. Not surprised they didn’t invite Dach or Cozens but I would have liked them to. Happy they invited Addison, didn’t think they would but love that guy.
