I think Pelletier is going to make some noise to be on that team. It is going to be a really tough roster to crack though.

I asked this on the game board but didn’t get a reply from anyone as they are more concerned about the score lol. But I am curious what others feel about the Suzuki line with Anderson Dolan and Lafrenière. To me they lack chemistry and don’t look good together at all

Ian Scott's numbers this season are way better and you confirm DiPietro the starter after a 14 save performance against Denmark?? LOL this is gonna bite us in the ass isn't it :shakehead

You do know they practice and probably evaluate their goalies better there than any game right.

Its curious how you only show up to stir the pot. I am disappointed that they interrupted Scott's stellar season to give him no shot at all.
While I don't agree with the decision, its time to move on. Dipietro is more than capable.

I know this is crazy after a 14-0 win but I don't think Canada is the favourite.

Need to take it up another gear against the real teams.

Would love to see Ian Scott's number if he played for a below .500 team like Windsor. Doubt it would be as stellar as Dipietro's . Lol no player is even over a point per game in Windsor...that should pretty much some up the amount of talent and skill in the team that Dipietro was backstopping.

Ian Scott will get his chance to shine at mem cup if all goes to plan.

Meanwhile, he needs to just bow down to a bigger alpha and watch Dipietro bring home the gold.

I never once said Hockey Canada’s system is broken or even alluded to it.

I simply said this particular team that was chosen doesn’t give me a lot of confidence in the D corps.

No you didn't. But the guy I initially responded to did

Canada 37 million, Finland 5.5 million but it has nothing to do with population it just shows how broken the Canadian hockey system is where skills are less important than the excessive number of games or thirteen year olds wearing suits to games as the top priorities of Hockey Canada!

You know what else is less important? Exhibition games. They lost a game that doesn't matter. They are the defending GOLD winner. That matters. With or without a suit.

Not really any superstars but that's a very solid team.

100%. They lack Chemistry. The issue for me is that plays were continuously dying on Lafreniere's stick. It's like he didn't know what type of game to play. One shift he'd be playing a north/south dump and chase and the next shift he'd be playing a finesse game. He's a young guy, so I'm sure he'll play better next game. As soon as Suzuki was on the ice with different players, there we're scoring chances.

I’m not sure if anyone noticed the degree of difficulty in the pass Suzuki made to frost for his third goal. He had the puck in a shooting position (beside his body) back leg off the ice and stick was loaded (slight bend)which tells the goalie to challenge the shooter and once that happened there was no open holes for a shot and to be able to quickly change and send cross crease pass on the tape in the middle of that takes amazing skill set. Yes it was hat trick but all frost had to do was tap it in. Just an incredible show of skill.

Missed the game...a lot of players probably looked good. Who didnt look good.

Worst you could say is probably that Lafreniere was slow to make decisions when he had the puck. Not even necessarily wrong decisions, just slow. Bowers didn't stand out at all but then again this isn't the type of game for him anyway.

Well that's good, sounds like the defense played well. Lets hope it holds up against the Swedes who looked very fast.

The defence didn't have anything to do after the first period as Denmark rolled over pretty early. I wouldn't take anything really negative or positive from any of the defencemen based on that game. McIsaac left the game after taking a shot on the ankle but came back pretty quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if Switzerland gave the defencemen a bit of a test, they looked solid against Czech Republic.

Don't sleep on Declan Chisholm for the Peterborough Petes, if he keeps up how he's played this year then I think he could be a surprise addition

That's true regarding Mete and Timmins. I recall some saying that Mete was a disappointment because he didn't score. He was a big addition to the team and that pairing was very important for Canada. I don't think that there will be a pairing that is that consistent defensively for Canada this year, but that can be mitigated in some ways.

Only the stat crazed audience would think that (which I agree there are many of those types).

Mete looked like a guy who came from the NHL and had the game under control
