More politics and looking out for guys that are "part of the program" than thinking going on here...This seems like one of those years Team Canada is overthinking things. Trust me, as an American I know that well (unfortunately).
Both really good goalies. Bob was on the radio earlier saying it is pretty much wide open for either of them to win the starters spot in the coming week or so.We're probably going to get better idea in the exhibition, but how have the goalies looked so far?
Don't want to derail this thread but I think it's reasonable to suggest the U.S. can challenge for gold. It's a deep team from goal out. A lot of good teams in this tournament though-including Canada. It will be tough.
I have a question for anyone who follows the WHL. How often does Anderson-Dolan play LW?
I feel like we are going to need Dipietro to play unbelievable if we are going to win this tournament

Scott plays on the best team in the CHL, I really can't see his numbers matching what he's doing in the WHL this year....or Scott playing normally.
JAD is amazing, as someone who has watched him for years in the dub. Very good offensively, capable of driving his own line and making his own chances, and extremely intelligent and committed defensively. I’d be comfortable with him playing literally anywhere in the lineup. Give him some time to change your opinion, I beg of you.
That is an interesting take....I am pretty sure both goaltenders are going to be more then fine. Definitely do not see it being this teams downfall.Goaltending will be the Canadian's downfall IMO. I don't see either option inspiring confidence in the group. That was pretty apparent in the U-Sports series. Hopefully the D-corps can minimize scoring chances against. Gonna be interesting.

I believe Dipetro had a sv % over .920 in the USport games and Scott around .910. They both played fine and have been great all season long.My take is based on what i saw from the U-Sports series. I hope i'm wrong.
In tourney's like the WJHC, goaltending is probably the most important position, particularly when it comes down to single elimination.
Also it's not like Ian Scott has been the best goalie in the CHL for this season and Michael DiPietro has consistently been elite in most to all competition the past few years.
Even if you disregard all this, Team Canada won in 2015 with ".909 on the best Halifax Mooseheads team ever" Zach Fucale as their starter, despite his best attempts to lose the gold medal game.
The REAL issue should be things like Markus Phillips playing over Jared McIsaac or potentially choosing Mackenzie Entwistle over Alexis Lafreniere; which should be to say no major issues at all.
I don't want to believe it but the way they have been playing him and not really giving him an actual line....Yeah it looks to me like he is going home.I refuse to believe they'll genuinely take Entwistle over Alexis.

It is one of those moves where you say....Okay, you better win the thing now. Because if they don't then it turns on them pretty quickly. I didn't really start this out with any confidence in Hunter carrying on for Ducharme, and well nothing so far has helped me gain confidence.Well, having him play in the spot where Vilardi will be playing once he's clear certainly doesn't inspire any confidence he'll be sticking around.
This decision could turn out to seriously bite them in the ass if the team manages to struggle offensively.
