It's difficult to see the names on the backs of the jerseys, and the announcer doesn't often say names. Pretty slow paced game so far. Usports scored on its only decent chance, Canada didn't really generate a lot but had more possession. Mahura seemed noticeable in that period. Lind made a few bad plays in the offensive zone and Ang was knocked down several times.

Aren't steel and dube nursing injuries?
I know Dube was wearing a no contact jersey at practice yesterday. Neither of them are playing tonight.

Nothing much happened in the second period. All of the goaltenders look solid. Both teams pretty disjointed.
Usports All-Stars doing a pretty good job defensively. I always forget how good they are. Even without the elite level talent they show the benefit of experience and maturity.

The game itself started pretty fast but slowed down a bit. There have been some pretty ragged moments, but that's to be expected.

Canada loses 3-0. Two empty net goals. Canada's third period was better than its first two but the Hart played well. Best chance was a four on two with Gadjovich hitting the post.

The winners: the goalies
The losers: the coaching staff that somehow has to separate the good from the bad in a game where no Canadian buried a shot.

Easy to forget that while they don’t have the high end skill (NHL potential wise) that he WJC team would have, they were all more than likely top players in the CHL and would be somewhere between 21-25 years old.

It’s nice to see a couple Kings again. Clague and Vilardi are the Kings’ top prospects.

Please keep us posted as to what happened. Somebody said Glass stunk. Anybody know what the game stats were? Shots on goal?

Most of the forwards were 2nd line talents in the CHL (Brett Welychka, Holden Cook, Michael Clarke are the names that I recognize).

It was a pretty boring game to be expected. Hard to recognize anybody standing out since the structure just wasn't there. Hopefully a better effort next game, thought the Canadians could have been more aggressive.

I expect that Canada will win by a decent margin tomorrow as the top players play and the university players are playing again less than a day later, but it was disappointing that the secondary guys didn't perform better. I wanted to see guys like Glass and Suzuki generate offence, but that's not what happened. Glass was pretty anonymous and Suzuki overhandled the puck. Two guys that I wasn't so high on, Comtois and Stanley, had decent games.
