if Steel gets cut again I might riot. i really want to see him with some higher-end talent to see what his play making can really do

As interesting as it would be to see a one person riot, I think it is extremely unlikely that Steel is cut. Everything from the summer camp, the super series and even this first game indicates that Hockey Canada views him as a core forward on the team. Other than injury he would have to force his way off the team, and other than doing something drastic off ice I don't see how that is possible.

So does Cholowski have a half decent shot at making the team or not really? I noticed most people don't project him to make it

every major riot start has to start with one or two people, right?

I think with Mete being sent down that pretty much does it for his chances. Just not enough open spots. In my opinion anyways. He will have to beat out Foote,Timmins or Makar for a spot.

Difficult to say. McKenzie didn't list him as a favourite, and he usually has a good idea of what Hockey Canada is thinking. McKenzie listed Clague, Bean and Fabbro as basically locks, with Timmins and Makar as favourites. Now that Mete is sent down we can consider him a lock (Hockey Canada isn't cutting a player released from the NHL). If McKenzie is right then Cholowski is competing for one open spot and maybe a spot if Timmins or Makar slip up, though they are RHD so maybe he isn't competing with them at all. I could see Canada favouring a big defenceman (either Foote or Stanley) for something different in that last spot. I see Cholowski as a longshot, though I hope that he makes it. I would much rather Cholowski than Bean or Foote/Stanley at the very least.

Wait until you see his speed. Then you'll understand

I've seen his speed. Great skater, and probably a good fit for the kind of uptempo game that Ducharme coaches. He just seems the least likely of the scratched players to be a lock. Certainly McKenzie thinks that he has a very good chance of making the team, and that isn't worthless speculation.

I don't think grouping in Stanley and Foote together is exactly fair. Foote is considerably better then Stanley in my opinion and he should be on the team over Cholowski unless he absolutely blows the doors off at the camp.

I grouped them together due to their role - the big defenceman. I know that Foote is better. I would take Cholowski over both, but he and Foote are probably similar players. Stanley is well below.

I know a lot of people knock stanley and dont see him as part of this team but i really do think he has a niche he can fill and a spot for him here as the 7th dman. Doesnt need huge minutes of course but a guy like that is good to have i think. Would be a good fit on the 2nd pk unit to possibly and other certain situations. I think he would fit well with any of the more offensive puck playing dmen.

What does this tell you guys

Katchouk-Glass-Raddysh
Gadjovich-McLeod-Lind
Comtois-Howden-Steenbergen
Kaspick-Ang-Batherson
Suzuki

Ferraro-Makar
Bean-Foote
Stanley-Cholowski
Mahura

Harvey, DiPietro

Hart, Point will play for @USPORTSca

The above tells me the following guys will be battled for one spot

Kaspick-Ang-Batherson
Suzuki

The below will also battle for one spot
Stanley-Cholowski
Mahura

Hart and point are the 2 guys that are 1 and 2 now

My guess only

The above are the lines according to masters

The following are scratch and most likely make the team

scratches for tonight's game against @USPORTSca D: Fabbro, Timmins, Clague, Mete F: Steel, Kyrou, Dube, Thomas, Formenton

This to me tells me the above players are 100% making the team

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out.

I'm not sure the lineup will say much until that match against Denmark.

To me they are playing the pairs as a lock-evaluation for the most part. The lines the same as well, a lock in between two evaluations or vice versa.

In past seasons Usports has had their own stream, but I went to their page and they were promoting the TSNGO feed, so it looks like that's all there is.

Yes I remember that and I also checked the Usports site. I am curious to see if Hockey Canada shows anything other than just TSNGo

And now they updated, and there is no other stream. TSN it is.
