And with Kapanen, there's a real opportunity for Hextall here. The East has strong teams but there's no prohibitive cup favorite among them. You find the right 3rd piece, and it's a matchup nightmare to complement tonight's GCR.

As I said, let McCann, EROD, and Zucker trickle down into your other bottom 6 line,
a poster a few posts before complaining about geno's cross ice pass to seemingly no one...you know what that means...he trusts that Kappy is flying that line...I like it...I don't want to pile on ERod, i just wish he is step faster on forechck or half a stick longer, that's all it would take to make major difference

If Geno and Sid are playing like this we can beat any team. I wouldn't say we're favored against a lot of them, but we'd have a chance.

Yes, but you still have Malkin fighting with one arm tied behind his back. Instead of handicapping him, fully leverage the advantage that he and Kapanen on a 2nd line create.

(I just think that makes a lot more sense than a '4th line fix' . . . make L2 as strong as L1 and let the others just matriculate into your bottom 6)

why does sully insist putting Jankowski in the game late in games and now the end of the second period. Hextall do something.
Didn’t you see!? Jank scored the ENG last game, mainly cause he was rewarded by Sully for his warrior spirit and commitment to playing the right way.

Makes sense, you add one piece to that line and everyone bumps down and you have depth. Then if by chance Zuck comes back your looking pretty nice.

There are times Geno puts passes to places he thinks EROD should be and you wonder what would if it were another guy like Kapanen.

And that's the kicker. People hear me say 'leverage L2' and think it has to be some super all star who will break the bank, and the truth is it just needs to be the right guy.

I mean, look at Kapanen. He's not a super all star. But, he's right for Malkin, and those two together are better than the sum of parts as a result.

Find a third guy to similarly enhance that dynamic, and this team is golden.
