I don't know what else has to happen for Lombardi to realize big and "gritty" ain't gonna cut any more. Need some speed and skill, preferably for the Kings.

Definitely a lot of questionable roster decisions, but gritty really isn't going to work when there is no grit shown.

They are playing like a bunch of guys that don't want to break a nail.

The '96 World Cup cemented hockey for me as the greatest sport out there and made Tkachuk my favorite player to this day as it was insane watching the best of the best go at it tooth and nail right before the actual season started. I mean, that tournament had suspension-worthy violence in every game and it was the best players in the world.

This? Man...the US team is skating like they don't care. Canada can skate like they don't care and its talent will still be enough. The US team has to leave it all out there and all they are leaving out there is a giant turd streak.

Should have been fired for needlessly bringing up the anthem controversy for no reason whatsoever and distracting from the team.

I'm sure it was just some tabloid crap reporter looking for more garbage for advertising that brought it up.

Yeah, you can use a 40 minute sample size, I'll use hundreds of games instead

C) Quick reputation should take a hit. Guy has been garbage this tournament and is wrongly regarded as one of the game's elite

So, a sample size of 40 minutes isn't fair to judge Schneider for the tournament, but a sample size of 50 minutes is good to judge Quick's entire reputation? Ok...

And I'm not counting the other games this tournament because he was great. Do tell me what horrible things he did wrong the other night in letting in goals on a 2-on-1, 2-on-0, and a screened deflection, hmmm?

when your facing the best hockey players in the world, you need all the offense you can get...and the US left some great offense off this team

Getzlaf playing an amazing game. Tavares as well. Crosby and his typical well rounded play. Stamkos showing he isn't defensively deficient like some like to pretend he is.

ESPN Reporter: "Are we going to see you playing a little bit more pissed off, here?"

Parise: "Ha... I think we have been."

Hull: "haha who is he kidding here?"

Ever since I watched Kypreos on the Steve Dangle Podcast, I don't mind him as much on TV.

I've never minded his personality, he's always seemed like a fun guy.

I just disagree with a lot, no MOST of his takes, especially when he tries to find ways to tie grit and toughness to successful play even in cases where it has little to nothing to do with it.

Hang on, I was only half paying attention - did Leah Hextall just say something about being "pissed off" in a question to Parise?
