That it might only be 2 games or so, sure I wouldn't be surprised considering there was no injury or anything. But there is no way he isn't getting suspended. Especially doing it to high-profile player which IIHF definitely wants to protect. Considering the plummeting turnout of NHL stars to these events, they might even consider throwing a book at Veleno to send the message.

Part of it is that these plays blow up on social media before the game even ends.

It's kinda funny that Veleno is really at the end of his road in the NHL so I guess this is his way to stay relevant and maybe get a new contract from someone. Someone who knows he's useless but at least willing to goon it up.
