Can Jack Hughes become the second best player behind Connor McDavid?

Wrong.

He was the primary assist on Luke’s goal.

Other 3 assist are secondary? What are you talking about?

Why lie about things that are easily verifiable?
Why would I lie as a devil fan? Unless the sportsnet app box scores are wrong.

I stand corrected. The score app has him having 3 secondary assists as I showed above. I actually was thinking that most of them where primary and went to check in the app to confirm and saw that they weren’t.
I went in NHL.com and it shows them as all primary.
I wasn’t wrong just had a bad source which I thought was reliable.

Amazing start. Hard to see him not challenging for the Ross this season. Don’t think he’s scoring a whole lot 5 on 5 yet?

I was about to like this post until the last line because it was a good example of someone admitting they made a mistake, but then you flubbed it.

I fixed it for you though, all is good.

"I wasn't wrong just had a bad source"

You talked as if you knew. Sorry, you were wrong. It's okay to be wrong.

The source was wrong. I talked as if I knew because I thought the same thing as a devils fan until I went to check on what should be an accurate source that wasn’t. So I don’t think “I” was wrong. Now if this were a news sources that had a narrative with misleading information and I didn’t do research then I would’ve taken the blame. I’m pretty sure “the score” app doesn’t have a narrative that is ensuring that people see the truth about Hughes assists. We can agree to disagree.

"oh man you love talking about your incredible and insanely fun to both watch and talk about player, you must have an inferiority complex"

it's a hockey forum bruh

Dont mind at all talking about how electrifying he is, but the posts are on the level of Jersey sub General notes thread talking about some random fan opinion tweets from years ago.

He is absolute dog on faceoffs though, not sure if his stick is a noodle which makes it harder for him or what.

The Devils PP while unsustainable is also doing so well in parts because of Jack working on his shot in the offseason, making him more of a threat.

5 5v5 points and 9 PPPs. Last year he was 6th in the league in 5v5 points. The Devils right now are running on unsustainable PP success, and at the same time, unsustainable 5v5 lack of finishing. Eventually this will balance out.

The answer is yes, he might be 2nd already. He’s had the best start to the season of any player in the NHL and his team is absolutely stacked. He’s going to pick up points in bunches.

Well, this was definitely the last season in which I drafted him in my redraft leagues. Because next year there's no way I'll again be able to snatch him around 12th-15th overall.

I agree there’s an over-saturation of Hughes threads right now, but people trying to act like he doesn’t warrant the hype are hilarious. There’s a certain derangement about Hughes that I don’t understand.

It's driven by jingoism. And the reluctance of a lot of folks to eat crow for all their ridiculous takes like trying to elevate Kakko and Lafrienière above Hughes or the hot take bust talk during his rookie season as if it was surprising that a rookie with the build of a 14 year old would need time to mature and adjust. They'd rather double down on the nonsense than admit defeat.

He was actually 7th and tied with 3 other players at 5on5

At this moment. In this season. It’s not a matter of can. He is. Obviously this pace isn’t sustainable but should be interesting to see how much he can continue.

6th because because he had more even strength goals than Robertson and Petterson. It’s on NHL.com

Matthew Tkachuk was 6th with 2 more points than Hughes.

Hughes was 7th, tied with Skinner, Robertson, Pettersson
