By the middle of the season, Bedard could easily be better than Hughs. I personally dont doubt it at all.

Im not saying it’s not possible, to say you don’t doubt it at all though screams clear bias. Nothing has indicated that will be even close to the case at this point.

The '2nd best player' is basically a tier.

Draisaitl, Matthews, MacKinnon. And it could be any of them at any given time. (maybe you could make an argument for a couple other guys too - Pasta/Sid).

Is it possible Jack Hughes could reach that tier? Sure.
