I feel for sabres fans because even loyal guys like Tuch at his age probably wants to win and the sabres don't seem any closer to that.
Their GM seems to think having mostly young players with no winning experience will figure it out but history says that's unlikely.
After trading Jack and Sam and not getting back the pieces needed to justify those moves and other guys seeming to be regressing where do they even go from here?

No doubt. But I do think there has to be a tipping point where the sheer amount of futures could be worth Buffalo's while. It would be different if they were contending, or even in a playoff race. But at some point it's hard to say no to sheer value.
I also don't doubt that TB might try to swing a 3-way deal where we acquire a 2-way center and send him to Buffalo for Tuch. Assuming we don't want the C. (For instance, ROR looks like a great fit for TB right now.) Not sure what Buffalo's cap situation is, but maybe something where TB trades for a pricey center and then ships him to Buf for the affordable Tuch?
True, but the alternative (trying to win with the current team) seems even less likely to succeed.

I don't think it makes sense for Buffalo to trade Tuch unless they know he won't re-sign.
That said, I don't understand Adams mentality for the deadline. I get that the fanbase might not have the patience for more "rebuild", but good luck getting contenders to give up their own significant roster players this time of year. If you're last in the conference the goal right now should be acquiring more futures that you could flip for roster players in the offseason when teams would be much more willing to deal.
As Dreger said, it might be a quiet deadline in Buffalo, which is totally their choice, but that's not going to help them in the short term either.

I hope Sabres are offering the UFAs they want to keep a bit of a premium to stay with them. If that is not agreeable to those players then get what you can now and move on. Sabres are not making the playoffs so get as much trade and draft capital as possible. Then USE IT WISELY--if they know how....

JBB tends to go way off the board at the TDL, pretty much every year. The one thing that's consistent is he gets players with another year remaining at a good price.
The fact that this is coming out at all means someone on Buffalo's side is talking about it. We never get a peep from TB.
But I think we would be willing to pay a bigger price for a C than Buffalo would be (the Jeannot package, but with better pieces), and then flip that C to Buffalo. Wouldn't be surprising at all if JBB is trying to find a player Buffalo wants. We would likely be willing to pay a price Buffalo won't, if what we really want is Tuch (and Tuch's contract).

Tuch is not a UFA. We have 0 incentive to move him unless you’re offering something the Sabres want more (and no, your mile-long list of futures ain’t it).

Then we’re stuck and it doesn’t matter. And I’m going off the premise that Tuch does not want you to sign in Buffalo which would not shock me, though I have no idea what his intentions are.

I've seen Tampa mentioned a bunch, but I just don't see how they can pull off Tuch without trading Hagel or Cirelli, which Tampa obviously wouldn't do.
If Moser was a RD, I think he could be of interest but he's not a RD. I just really struggle to see a match there that would meet what Buffalo would want for Tuch.

Well, I don't agree with that either, we have assets, but unfortunately we don't have a good GM and an idiot owner. But even our bad GM sometimes makes good deals.
As for Tuch, what's the point of trading him at TDL for futures if there will be more teams in the summer that can make a hockey deal with us, plus Tuch will already have the right to immediately sign an extension with a new team, and now he can't.
Still going to disagree. This “hockey trade” stuff shouldn’t cloud anything in a trade process. IMO, you always take what you feel is a higher value, whether it be NHL roster players or prospects and picks.
The solution to the Sabres woes will not be at trade deadline
