Call for sweeping changes?

Guy put up 62 points as a 2C and was basically a 30 goal scorer. So grateful to have him on the Kings. Another incredible trade by Dean.

This team goes as Kopitar goes. So for me there is no question who is the most important part of the Kings.

For me, it's Doughty, the most important skater on the team. Nobody does what he does at the level and consistency he does for close to 30 min a game. if the Kings were to lose him to a season ending injury, they'd be in big trouble. He was the their best player in the Cup run last year. And the best player this year. And he's only 25.

Doughty was BY FAR the Kings best player this year. Not even debatable.

This is no knock on Doughty and we hope he continues to be one of the best defensemen in the league but this can't happen again (him being the best player on the team). No playoffs is the result. A forward should always be the best player on the team if we want to continue having success.

Why do you guys get so worked up when we critique Kopitar?
He's one of the best players on the planet.
He'll always be one of my favorite players.
His regular season was underwhelming.

I'm not flaming the guy, I'm just disappointed. The hyperbole is ridiculous. I love the guy, but Carter was simply better this year.

What they need out of Brown is straight up and down hockey. It worked in the playoffs last year. Played with Kopitar and Gaborik for the most part.

He has to skate hard, and drive the net. If Brown does that, he'll be alright. It's when he starts dangling with the puck, and trying to make sharp turns, that gets him into trouble. Put him on the right side, since he'd probably be less likely to do all his twirls when not on his off side. As simple as possible. Stick side on the boards. Give the puck to Kopitar or Gaborik, and go to the net. Dig pucks out from the corner, then go to the net. Not saying Brown needs to be, or can be, 2012 playoffs Brown, but he has to play more like that guy.
