Loaned out to Oskarshamn in Allsvenskan for next year. Seems like a good place for him to develop. Needs to be challenged, J20 is too easy and SHL too hard, so Allsvenskan should fit him just fine. Might help his draft stock a little bit too, knowing he won't be stuck playing 4th line minutes in the SHL next year.

5 points in 6 games in Allsvenskan so far. Nice to see him produce against men.

8 pts in 9 games in Allsvenskan so far for a guy whos less than 1 month away from being eligble for this years draft. Still blown by the fact that he was a 5th round pick.

Will be interesting to see if he can keep the pace up.

A very impressive start for a 5th rounder to say the least, do not get why this start goes so unnoticed

He’s lighting up like hoped. I had hoped Vancouver would snag this sniper. Outside shot to be a nice top 6 player in the future if he finds his niche.

I don't know if that's just a poor choice of word on your side but Elvenes is not a sniper. His shot is pretty bad actually.:teach:

Not surprised elvenes is lighting it up. He was my brayden point esque player with 1st/2nd round talent who's going to drop through the draft for whatever reason(attitude, attention detail, dzone etc...whatever it was for him) who i believe will prove the doubters wrong and be a point producing top 6/9 player in the NHL. His pure skillset and vision of the ice would've been enough for me to use a 3rd let alone a 5th on him. Very excited to follow him and see what the future holds

lol, I was thinking of Kirill Nizhnikov. That’s what you get when you post late at night.

Correct me if I am wrong, but is he not going through the same route (as in the same league with similar production) as Dahlen of the Canucks?

Fairly disappointing draft year but look like he's started to pick it up. Always thought he had the most impressive tools among the 99-born Swedish forwards.

Will be intresting to see how he does when he gets back to rögle. Not surprise if they will call him back sooner than later. What is best for his development probably depends on what role he will have in rögle.

Had an assist and scored the overtime winner against Vita Hästen last night:

He's keeping a pretty torrid pace. 16 points in 15 games, tied for 1st in scoring in Allsvenskan.

If you are the type of person that goes more by which year they are born in over draft year, then his season is similar to Pettersson last season. I go more by draft year personally, but still a remarkable good season so far for a 5th rounder.

It's interesting. If Elvenes was born a month later he would be eligible for the 2018 draft. With how well he has played so far in Allsvenskan, I wonder how high he'd go in the draft next summer? Late 1st round? He wouldn't have been a 5th rounder that's for sure. Still don't know if he'll be an NHLer though but he is tracking very well and is showing that he was worthy to be drafted in the first 2-3 rounds at least.

4p in 3 games in shl since the cut (game still going), and was around 1ppg in allsvenskan before that. Would probably go in the first round if the draft would have been today. Can not believe they cut him, espically when he scored 5p against denmark.

2 more points today, 8p in 11 games so far, 7p in 7 games after the cut from wjc.
