I gotta imagine he's going to come into camp with a ton of confidence, might be a reach but it would be nice if he steals a spot right out of camp.

It's not a reach at all for Voronkov to start in the NHL right away. He's waiver exempt so they might start him in the AHL like they did with Marchenko just so they can give a chance to other players. That factor aside I'd expect Voronkov to be one of the top 13 forwards in the Jackets org.

That's kind of what I was thinking. They'll put him in the AHL while potentially giving the non waiver guys a last chance(Foudy, Bemstrom, etc) and then call Voronkov when needed. Jarmo said there were multiple times they wanted to call Marchenko last season but he was either sick or hurt everytime. It wouldn't be terrible for him to get some time in the AHL, gain some confidence and get called up and (hopefully) never look back.

We thought he might have 3C in him but he showed up slow at 240 lbs and hasn't been at center yet.
He indeed looks slower and heavier than last season in the KHL, I have an impression that he added a bit too much muscles during one offseason. As for being center, in the KHL he mostly was a winger and if he wasn't able to stick at C there then it would be hard to expect him to do it in the NHL (not totally impossible though).

With that being said he got an assist, also provided a solid net-front presence on a PP goal before that, so I think it wasn't a bad debut game.

Gaining confidence and getting his conditioning up to par. Getting to see his physical side and the benefit that brings. He and Fantilli were a good spark for the team last game

The funniest part of that play is after Trouba comes back and gives Voronkov that little shot he skates away as Voronkov doesnt budge or pay attention to it. If people do it to his linemates however he makes his prrsence known
