He never was a mountain of muscles or something, so could be true.

Voronkov is very strong for his size if he is only 190 lbs. But that's only average weight in the NHL so I'd like him to get closer to 6'4 210.

Marchenko has started putting on a lot of muscle and it is making him much more effective in traffic, a burgeoning power forward.

Don't think he'll necessarily be a top 6 player but he's got the chance to be a very important depth piece imo
Let me rephrase this: he certainly isn't to going be a top 6 player but might still become an important depth piece.

I don't know if it's accurate, but in my mind I keep thinking he's like a Russian Boone Jenner.

Mmm.. Probably not

I want to defer to @SoundAndFury who is an Ak Bars fan?

But I also get the feeling that Voronkov's game will translate really well to the NHL. He can be a bull in the corners and in front of the net. Might need to fill out more though.

Atas2000 was an Ak Bars fan, the only one on these boards I think. I just happen to follow the KHL.

And the 2nd part for the most part I agree with but as I wrote in the other thread in the autumn, at this point Klim Kostin is probably closer to his comparable than Boone Jenner.

Klim Kostin is like part time Boone Jenner part time ghost, so that isn't bad.

Once again, completely agree. And that description, for better or worse, fits Voronkov greatly as well.

2nd part of this season was the first time in his career that he showed any kind of consistency for a period of time longer than a few games. And even then he had that completely dry month in December - January. It's like the guy has on and off switch.

Once again, similar to Kostin, I think as long as it remains that way he is just going to play in the AHL.

I really think he's going to fit into the Jackets top 9 like a glove. He and Texier are going to need to be on different lines as they both excel at getting into those tight areas and doing some work.

This thread labels him a C/W has he actually played much center? Or is he mostly a winger?
