We think so, too. We're hoping the next game against the Pens has more appropriate ice time for players who are actually performing, because it certainly isn't the veterans. Dima has been a revelation.

I think part of it is that the coach doesn't trust Fantilli taking faceoffs in the third. Voronkov just went 2 for 2 there, maybe they'll let him take more draws.

Fantilli 40.2%
Sillinger 42.8%
Kuraly 44.6%

If that is his reasoning it wouldnt be a very good one

Yeah I noticed Pascal put Sillinger out there as a faceoff backup on a different line with a couple minutes left last night. He's not one of our best defensive players, not a good faceoff guy yet, still a 20 year old that belongs in the AHL. And he's out there while Fantilli, Voronkov, and Marchenko are benched.

Any Russians ITT want to explain what this bullshit is about? Dude is scoring as a rookie like only Rick nash has for that franchise in their rookie year, but he wants to go home??

Wtf??

“The nine points in 15 games put him in rare company with the Blue Jackets. He’s tied with Adam Fantilli (this season) and Blue Jackets franchise legend Rick Nash (2002) for the third-most points for a Columbus player in their first 15 games.”

Has another goal tonight, too.

I know Columbus is a crappy place to live but wth

Talked about it on 32 thoughts. Basically said the same and they're getting Tyutin to work with him.

I wonder if Cbus looks for another Russian, or two to bring him just to make him feel more comfortable considering how good of a prospect he seems to be.

They have plenty. Provorov, Marchenko, Chinakhov. Feel like I’m missing another

For some reason I only remembered Provorov, so maybe it's just a hard time getting close to the holidays, no actual family around.

Maybe they find a way to bring a family member, or two over to live with him

Theyve already come out and said he'll stay if hes in the NHL. He had an out clause if he didnt make the NHL team sometime around the end of december so we always knew it was NHL or back home.

It’s not a moral failing to not prioritizing playing in the NHL above all else. Some would rather be close to home.

I don't understand how he never learned an ounce of English
This criticism is not fair. When you're not a native English speaker, you can't learn English very quickly. Putting in the effort to learn English and being able to communicate fluently in English without the language barrier are two different things.
If the team offers all the language courses and he doesn't want to take them, that's his problem. But you can't criticize a non-native English speaker for not speaking English.

I saw people said he lived all alone in hotel. Given he didn't speak any English at all, no wonder he felt himself uncomfortable. Kinda strange situation for an NHL team. It looks like they didn't expect anything decent from him and just didn't care.

That is very odd. Rookies almost always live with a vet. Very surprised he wasn't living with one of the russians already on the team.
