C Trevor Zegras (2019, 9th, ANA)

  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. We expect to have this issue solved once the maintenance is complete.
  • We are currently aware of "log in/security error" issues that are affecting some users. We apologize and ask for your patience as we try to get these issues fixed.
Don't think so, I think if Ducks had 3rd pick they would have took Zegras. He is everything the Ducks are missing, he's electrifying.
Maybe.. but I have a hard time thinkin theyd pass on Seider(and wasn't it said somewhere we were going to take Broberg at 9).. I guess it depends if we just assumed Zegras wouldn't be there at 9 tho.

Is Mitch Marner a good comp for Zegras?

Every time I see Zegras play (which I admit has been limited) his electric playmaking ability reminds me a lot of Marner

Just was curious if I was in the minority on that one

Teravainen would be closest comparable in the NHL today, but he's really doesn't have the creativity Zegras shows.

I think Marc Savard is a good historical comparable.

Zegras dominating against some German 3-4 lines (Division B level talent) does not impress me much. Against Canada, he was invisible outside the power-play.

Nice PP specialist, though.

I was back and forth with him and byram at number 3 on my list. Was annoyed the ducks grabbed him one spot before the canucks. The late jason botchford claimed he was the canucks guy the same way pettersson was.

He barely played... That's probably why.

I have yet to see a player dominate the game from the bench

But to some degree I agree, want to see him perform in some more pressure. That puck control on the pass in Canada game is a positive sign though.
Have to give credit to Germany though. Thrir lower lones might be Division B level, but their top guys are amazing. Germany will be good in hockey for years to come.

He wasnt invisible against Russia today.

Love Zegras. Saw him with US Dev program and ranked him 3rd in his draft. Special talent, reminds me of Joe Sakic style wise.
