If Frederic has had concussion problems then he probably doesn't want to be fighting too much, or he's going to have a short career.

Outside the fight did you see him play?! he played 8 minutes and didn't do much! pump the breaks.... I get it was his first game as well....

How did Hughes look?

I watched the game. He was exactly as advertised. Hard on pucks. He had two scoring chances, no real gaffes. I'm not pumping him up, I'm just pointing out that you were dead wrong on the callup.

Sweet. Another third liner. Can’t wait for another few years when Bergeron and Marchand are cooked. No first or second line Center and one top 6 wing in Pastrnak. Looking solid. Their pipeline is weak. Ya it’s deep but it’s deep in average Joes. No blue chip talent at all. Not even close.

Parents cheering for their kid to fight? Wow. Karma will probably be right next around the corner next time they play the Jets...

Marchand was once a 4th liner ya know. The Bruins will be fine.

They're not soft millenials. Nice to see.

Anyone fighting in their first game gets my attention. Potential proper power forward in the making!

I would hope that the Bruins would hope for Frederic to be a middle six C with some skill and physicality. Sort of a new age Backes, although that's selling Backes short . He was a legit #1C for a while there in STL. Nasty to play against.

No they cheered for their son after he beat up a guy that wanted to fight him.

I know the league is turning soft and some fans dont like rough housing but fighting is still a part of the game and that fight alone has probably extended his stay in the NHL by alot.

Extended stay = a crap load of money

What is the consensus from Bruins fans on how the Frederic pick has turned out? I remember when he was drafted it was thought to be a big reach, but Frederic has developed well, even though he's not yet full time in the NHL. What role is he envisioned to play for the Bruins?

the consensus from bruins fans would be that it was a bad pick and they should've taken (insert
a number of guys who have had success offensively that were picked after him). personally i
didn't love the pick, but he looks like a surefire bottom 6 guy with size and grit. upside is
probably 3rd line center. they tried him at wing and center in providence, but think he'll end
up in the middle. realistically, if you can get a 3rd line guy at the end of the 1st round that can
score 15 goals and give you size and nasty, you did well.

Most likely bottom 6 LW/C. Kid is tough, he's got some skill and some leadership qualities but I don't see him cracking the top 6. Kind of like a Chris Kelly type with a little more size and ability to throw down with middle/light heavies.
