So he's a bubble scratch guy ? Doesn't really change the fact that he should be a consistent fixture in a lineup somewhere right now, if they lose the next game does he get scratched again? Seems like an odd way to bring along a player who's decline in play were largely attributed to not playing for an entire season.Seattle lost game 1 and made a roster change, won game 2 so they kept the same roster for game 3, including Martin Jones in goal. I'd assume after losing last night that they'll switch it up again and get Wright into the lineup for game 4.

I'm not even sure about that yet GS.Will be a welcomed addition to Team Canada's WJC team this Christmas.
I think it works best with a constant and solid routine. Like, honestly, just have your player development guys camp out in Kingston. The NHL grind really isn't built for player development, which is why most massive gains are made in the off-season where you work with individual skill/skating coaches and physical trainers. NHL practices are very overrated in this regard, the grind of the season doesn't allow for significant player development on this front. The travel is too intense and the games too draining. So, either go back to junior and work with private skill coaches and Seattle player development guys Monday to Thursday (as a crazy amount of OHL games are friday to sunday) or play him 3rd line minutes at a minimum.

I'm all for giving him his 9 games , but don't drag the process out so long he misses more games in junior. Of if you are keeping him, accept that he's going to make mistakes but at least play him.
I think they and several other teams will soon be lamenting passing on Kaspar. Wright was over drafted at 4OA.If this continues ill start to wonder if the Kraken actually wanted to draft him and only took him because they were shell shocked that he dropped to them.
I wonder who the Kraken would have drafted if Wright hadn't been there.
Maybe they just realize this kid isn’t ready for primetime. The question that I would be worried about is, whether he ever will be.Hakstol's handling Wright is nutty.
Sorry but playing a guy 6 minutes in his only game then healthy scratching him for the next two is idiotic coaching.
Whatever one thinks might be the best development path for Wright, surely this isn't it.He played 6 minutes in game 1 . Unless you're dressing an enforcer for whatever reason no player should only get to play 6 minutes.
If they don't think he's ready for the NHL yet, then he should be back in junior. If they think he's ready for the NHL, then he shouldn't be getting healthy scratched all the time and when he does play only play him 6 minutes.Maybe they just realize this kid isn’t ready for primetime. Pat Burns once did the same with Joe Thornton.Hakstol's handling Wright is nutty.

Link ?Pat Burns once did the same with Joe Thornton.
But I suspect they are testing Wright's attitude towards it.
He was the talent predicted to go 1st overall, but 3 teams passed on him after talking with him, reportedly because of his attitude. When teams as bad as Montreal, New jersey and Arizona pass on you....LOL. Next thing you know there is footage of him having tantrums with Seattle coaches at practices and sitting on the ice not moving until the Zamboni driver honks 8 times and looking annoyed he has to move.
I can't remember which video it was, but Ill comb through after and find it.Link ?

it was either this channel or the podcast of the beat reporter. Which i am trying to locate.
I retweeted the Zamboni thing so that is easy to find lol

You bet he was....Wright wasn't passed 3 times cause of a made up problem issue. Montreal fans and their media are making up excues to find to justify that their team didn't take him.
Can we stop with the self proclaimed EXPERTS on how to develop a player... Yesterday wasn't a good time to play Wright.
Majority of all CHL are at a disadvantage when they are draft cause they are CHL players whom are intentionally restricting from being able to advance their development just so the 3 leagues look good. The Mcdavid, Matthews, Crosby even the Price (in case of goalies) type level talented players out of the CHL are rare.
Players that aren't CHL players can play in the AHL if the drafted team wants to, can play college hockey if the player wants to to further their development.
It may not be the best option for Wright to be send back down to jrs for another year yet he shouldn't be showed in right away in the kraken squad for top 6 mins right away especially when the most competition he faced are 15 to 20 year olds and not anyone older than that.
he was definitely passed once because of that. but New Jersey was already good at center, They needed a big winger or a RD defenseman. Once Slaf was taken they went RD. Arizona took Cooley because he was one of the frew top prospects that said he would be happy playing for the coyotes. You bet he was....
They took Cooley because he has attributes Wright does not. They took Cooley because they asked him straight up during the interviews if he would be happy playing Arizona. They took Cooley because he has attributes Wright does not. Attributes they coveted more.
this isn’t a complicated exercise. We don’t need to figure out why a guy didn’t go first when he didnt even go third.

Arizona already made up their mind on who they want to take if that player was still there which is Cooley long before Montreal made their decision on wright or slaf and they decided to stick with that decision to go with Cooley.
The only way Arizona was going to take somoene else if montreal was going to take Cooley but they didn't. Arizona sticking with their plans has NOTHING to do with Wright.
Montreal media and Montreal fans are upset that the team went with slaf and decided to take their disappointment on Wright himself and started created excuses why Montreal didn't take Wright.
This is why no fans should start boasting over a specific player (spending money on a customized habs jersey with wrights name and number) or the Media boasting that wright is the next greatest montreal player ever until after its confirmed thats who montreal was going to take. Guess what that didn't happen and fans/media are upset.
Gotta give the Habs GM some credit, A huge chunk of the NHL's GM's would have bowed to the pressure of the media and fans and took Wright. He must have a big bag of pucks.Arizona already made up their mind on who they want to take if that player was still there which is Cooley long before Montreal made their decision on wright or slaf and they decided to stick with that decision to go with Cooley.

Thank you for providing evidence or at least some logical explanation to that not being the case.No one is upset.
If Wright really was who the scouts thought would be the absolute best player, NJD and even the Coyotes would’ve taken him in a heart beat after MTL passed on him but they didn’t, and it’s not because NJD already has centers or because Cooley said he would be happy to play for the Coyotes.
