First time he hasn't hit the scoresheet in a while. Benson in the meanwhile put up 3-3-6 on the night and got life out of Conor Geekie. I'm not sure if Savoie isn't still a bit hobbled from the shot block to end the game prior.

Savoie 2-2-4 and +5.... Geekie? 1-3-4 and a +7 playing a bit on Savoie and McClennon's wing.

This kid has a very very good shot at making the team out of camp. His play speed is not only pro ready, it’s high level pro.
I hope he does. Another year in the WHL seems like a waste. He needs to play with adults in a faster league next year to build on his development.

We need an exemption rule. Maybe the CHL team gets 100k or something like that.

Goal (#32) at 9:33 to go along with two assists tonight. I'll see if the WHL or Ice put up the video. It's 5-on-3.

His line just got scored on to make it 6-4 for the Tigers after he was stopped on a stuff play at the crease. He changed and won't be a minus on the play, as his replacement is still just over the blueline as the 3-on-2 has put the puck to the crease but Benson takes... no one at all after skating all the way back to the front of the net.

Savoie's wheels are fantastic. I don't know I like Mclennan on his line, they seem to end up occupying the same ice too often. There was a gu in beer league I just couldn't be on his line because we obviously saw the ice exactly the same way and kept running into each other lol.

For those not watching, he also has the secondary assist on the Lambos goal (Ice's 3rd) that he put into the right corner and Benson fed out front for Lambos to finish. He's up to 5th in WHL scoring now as he's stacking goals and points, particularly NOT on the powerplay. He's got 60 points shorthanded or at even strength, only 16 on the PP.

McClennon never met a soft area on the ice to take a shot he didn't like. And that's kind of what he does - find a spot and wait to shoot. If that reminds you of anyone... it's supposed to.

That sure isn't Savoie, he goes to hard ice on the regular. There was a shift a few before his goal where he was the netfront guy taking the beating like prime Dino Ciccarelli.

He plays in hard areas for sure. He does spend a lot of time in the low slot and just off crease to the goalie's right. I'm still of a mind that his shoulder recovery took longer than they expected but he's back to normal now.

I was listening to an athletic prospect podcast from months ago that I hadn’t gotten to and Pronman was asked about Savoie. He said his production dip (at the time) had to be noted because it’s not a good thing…but that he’d seen him play several times and he looked great. Fast, engaged, dominant…

he was just unlucky for a good stretch

And now that time has passed
