I find he's unsure of himself out there. I think, "He's is a BIG man and should throw his weight around more".

Then I remember he's 19.
Yeah it’s crazy to think he’s 19. He’s going to grow into his body and learn to play optimally for a bigger bodied player.

I don’t think he’ll ever develop a mean streak, but man if everything comes together he’s going to be a force in this league.

The last series was interesting for QB...

He raced down the wing and almost sets up a goal, then he raced back and batted the puck out of the air at center ice - except it landed on Drai's stick, then he fell on his ass in the defensive zone and couldn't seem to figure out what he should do.

The good, the bad and the ugly.

Nothing wrong with his play in the 2nd period - minus what I mentioned above.

One reservation...

He had a run in with Kulak on the blue line. QB's a much bigger man yet Kulak managed to hold him up. That can't happen.

IF this goes to O.T., I hope QB gets some ice time - haven't seen much of him in the 3rd.

Edit :

I don't think he got out there in OT. :(

you would think this Byfield has been in the league for 5 years. He is still 20 years old.
He’s 19, actually :)

Also, for those who missed it, his goal from last night:

Nice puck battle, outmuscles Draisaitl (which isn’t easy), does a great job making space for himself to finish. Also love the hit from Kupari moments before.

I don't think anyone feels he will bust. We are just disappointed - of course, that's on us because we expected too much, too early.

He fumbles and bobbles so many pucks.... Just watching today haven't seen a Kings game in like 5-6... Is he improving anywhere?

I f***ing KNEW you were going to post after last night, lol

Aside from getting shellacked by the Avs yeah, he's looking good, that line's been generating chances game after game for the most part, it feels like it's only a matter of time before a major breakthru but it is very annoying that the production doesn't match the visuals right now

Kupari-Byfield-Vilardi has alittle bit of everything--they're all huge guys, 2/3 can absolutely fly, Kupari hits like a truck, Vilardi is starting to look like Corey Perry on the boards/around the net...yet unfortunately none of them can f***ing score, it's maddening.

If there's one thing Byfield has improved this year it's his ozone cycle game, that bodes well at least, he seems to be learning some tricks from Kopitar/Danault in that regard, especially using his size to shield the puck.

Bigtime work in progress but there is improvement. People are gonna need some serious patience, and Byfield still needs a plug in the end of his stick.

Surprised no post after Byfield got 2 assists last night. Apparently had one of his best games according to the LA Kings GDT.

Video of his 2 assists.

I was happy when I saw the stats but last time I praised him for a good game, he disappeared for 5+ games. More of the same QB, please.
