C Philippe Veilleux - College Charles-Lemoyne Riverains, QM18AAA (2025 draft)

He's 14. Most people grow until they are 16 - 17.

When I was 14, I was the biggest kid in my class. When I was 18, I wasn't. Lots of people catch up.

Yeah, of course. It's just that players that are already 180 at 5'7 tend to be closer to physical maturity than a player that's 5'8 140 lbs. Jeremie was also 5 inches taller at the same age. All I'm saying. Of course he can still grow anyways.

Or he could be a puppy with BIG feet - and he'll grow into his build. :)

Anyway, let's hope he gets to 6 foot like his brother and dad.

Holy f***, this guy is the most skilled 13 year old I have ever seen by far! He may be the most impressive stickhandler in the world regardless of age.

It may be early, but is this the next generational talent?
I decided to go through all of those clips.

Don't think this is anything crazy, honestly. Didn't really have a single wow moment. Of course, good hands and all. But this reaction's pretty ridiculous.

Carrier is around 5'8 actually. I think he's the best of the 3 long term. Great hockey sense and compete level. Morin is the safest to project with his size, power and shooting ability, but I really like Carrier as a two-way playmaking center.

If I had to say in Quebec the best 2007 players are Nathan Lecompte, Zachary Morin, Shawn Carrier, Caleb Desnoyers and Alex Huang on defense.

Who/What do Carrier/Morin project like? Been reading up on them recently.

Reading this thread made me cringe so bad, it's a little SUS to promote a young kid trying to get clout on IG with he's training videos :squint:

Notched 47 pts in 28 games last year in U15.

Off to a good start this year with 5 goals in 6 games in U18 (Midget AAA). Likely a top prospect for the QMJHL draft this year. He is listed as 5'7 and 130lbs on the U18 website.

Anyone who has seen him play can comment?

Impressive stats for a 16 year old rookie playing for the worst team in the entire CHL.
just 12 wins and 29 points this season, 120 goals for and 204 against
- from 120 goals, 37 pp and 5 sh goals = 42 = 78 x even numbers goals in 45 games
= 1.7 per game... that is so bad... we are a talking about juniors here...
i suppose that would be really bad in the NHL too.. lol

leads his team in assists (21) and points (30), pp assists (11)
sure, almost half his points have come from PP
but where else a team like that scores goals..

really really good player!
11+22 (-29) in 49 games, for the worst team in the QMJHL/CHL

what moves, and a snipe

Elite IQ and puck skills but don't know if the rest of his tools are NHL-caliber. Definitely a beast on the PP.
But doesn't really need to, especially at this stage of his career at 16.

Elite IQ and pucks skills will give you a quality NHL career as it is
and when you are 5 foot 10 at 16, you have time to grow

I put some projection into my questioning of his tools for the long term. Been watching him live for 3 years now, I know what he's about and have a good idea of his progress rate as well. He's a bit in the same boat as Felix Lacerte, probably a better skater which will help. Not the style of player NHL teams like to draft most of the time.

Definitely will be a productive pro somewhere, but might not be in the NHL (could be in the NHL with continued progress, you never know).
