I dub thee "The Flying Tiger"

Man I miss that restaurant. Remember how cool it was - right on the runway? And you could listen to the tower on headphones?

The vibe was so cool, with the burned out building and jeep and stuff. I think when they made everyone pilots instead of having pilots and nurses is when it started to go downhill.

RIP Blind Tiger Cheektowaga NY

5'10", 164 lbs were his combine measurements.

Some other combine results I found for him:

Tied with Kasper and Lutz for third in VO2 Max (Aerobic fitness): 60.0
10th in anaerobic fatigue index: 43.1
Lowest body fat %: 6.82
15th in Force Plate, Squat Jump at 15.08"

No idea what any of it means, though he's a lean cuss based on his body fat %.
I'm no expert but considering how small and thin he is it's pretty impressive to be that high up on force plate, it's essentially how much force goes into it. Kind of like stomping on a scale. Shows that he can generate some serious power with his stride, presumably. Add some meat to those bones and you get Panzerfleisch!

More likely we still take Savoie at 7 and then take Nazar at 9 after Detroit still takes Kaspar at 8.

Matt Murray is still dead to us regardless.
I would bet the house theyd take Savoie at 7 given what they kept taking. I would bet Savoie was top 4 on their board. if Detroit still goes Kasper, which I believe they do, I think we take Nazar you’re right.

When looking at prospects in the SHL you have to look at the team as well. Djurgården got relegated, Leksand i sa team that should be happy as long as they survive. You can't draft and develop in the SHL since that means relegation and losing 50-70% of your budget over night.

On a good team Rosén and Östlund would have gotten fewer games dressed but played with skilled players.

Östlund will have a different role in HA and the league is perfect for him.
I think a good way to work with Rosén is focusing on fitness until december and then sending him to a HA team after JWC. Just start over.

I keep watching that ply at 1:45. It’s so stupid. Like, if I’m a coach of the opposing team watching the video replay the next day, I’m pulling that bottle of scotch out of the drawer at 11am and cancelling team meetings for the day. Need time to process.

The play where he dodges three forecheckers and then lays the puck on the tape for his winger at the opposition blueline? Yeah, that's one that puts eyebrows into hairlines.

Development is such a weird animal. You basically have to look at what a player does against an age group in a particular league, and understand that those decisions are good at this level, but can they translate to the next level and can some habits be broken.

I see some great puck possession skills, great skating, some good vision, but also see some things that may end up in the back of your own net in the pros.

i dont know what you keep going on about with yzerman, he picks off board as much as any gm in the league, he took Seider in the top 5 when he was ranked in the mid teens

I don’t know why Ostlund is so severely underrated by so many here. I had a couple guys i liked more at the pick (Kulich btw…was my top guy available). But no more than a couple. This idea hes a wasted pick is so insane to me. You’d think we drafted a guy with an undrafted grade. Many outlets had him ranked right there. Some even had him higher.

and bringing up Yzerman is hilarious because many Detroit fans had themselves thinking his off the board pick this year would be…Noah Ostlund at 8. Because he’s the type Yzerman is looking for

Reading and watching clips since the pick, I'm starting to like it maybe even more than the Savoie pick.

What i see matches what a lot of people have said: he just needs to get stronger and a little more committed physically to take his game to the next level, and i can tell myself a story that the only reason he isnt more physical is just that his body is still maturing.

I even like his interviews. Seems like there is something special about him. Very smart, confident, competitive.

Anybody know where a guy can find full games of the u18s last year? Nothing on youtube/vimeo that I could find. Do people have other sources?

He took Kasper the one i wanted . My point is he drafts good sabres have a Track record of bad drafting would rather take the russian miro that caps took .ostlund cant be a Nylander or Persson pick . When he take players off board he hits a really good one . He better become a good 2 C or elit 3 C .

He has the skills and mind to become 1C, he will grow up and become stronger physically and this is quite real, I hope he will develop correctly. Kasper is cool and a lot of people like him, but Östlund's ceiling is higher than Kasper's ceiling.

Adams does not have a track record of bad drafting at all. You can’t blame him for people who aren’t him.

Quinn people were mad and he went off
Trading up for Peterka was absolutely correct
Power was a gimme
Bloom and Nadeau have outperformed their picks by a hilarious degree

People are pissed about Rosen who had an injured year in a league he didn’t get good usage or minutes in that was ranked right around where they took him and was seen as a long term guy taken because he has top end skill. Thats what this is. Bringing up Nylander as if that has anything to do with Adams? What? Do I get to credit Adams for taking Ryan Miller in the 5th? He had an equal amount to do with it.

And for the millionth time…OSTLUND WASNT EVEN AN OFF THE BOARD PICK.

Jesus guy is ranked between 10 and 25 in one of the most erratic classes and you lose your shit at 16?

Maybe take a break from talking about him and go watch him.

Some players i Can think of that was just wasted: zagrpan , person Nylander grigorenko Girgensons
Mittlestadt risto zadorov armia psysk klassian

we need to develope players better

Ostlund Im not low on him if he is as good as a scout said that he can be a really good 2 c i would be happy .

My expectations is hintz kyrou thomas kind of player nothing less and I dont expect more . Around these players that would give us a good 2 c. So hope you guys are right but if he cant become that it will be a waste pick if he becomes another Asplund not that asplund is bad he is a good 4 line players like him much better then Johan Larsson so thats good having Asplund buy hoping more for a first round picks if second rounders like hintz can be so good then these expectations are good to have.

U can make these arguments about literally any player.....if he hits it's good, if he sucks it's a wasted pick..... I see and hope he becomes a Jesper Bratt. They're very similiar skaters and both have aton of skill. Both smaller and softer on the puck away from it, but dynamic with it. Ostlund is to me is the center version of him. Take your time with his development, no need to rush anybody (which kevyn has done a great job with managing) luv what they did with thompson, mitts(seems like a different player now) and what they're doing patiently with quinn and peterka. I'm excited about this draft because i feel both savoie and ostlund under the wrong organizational umbrella could easily bust, but i think with what adams is doing and bring everyone along slowly but surely is the recipe for success and I truly think the mid-late 2020's could be potentially dominant in buffalo.
