I really like his defensive game and how he's willing to fight for the puck in the tough areas of the ice as a smaller player. I'm trying to think of a recent draft comparable and I keep going back to 2017 Lias Andersson. (Who at the time was projected as a top 15 pick and went 7th overall)

I hope that there's more to his game than Lias, though. From what I can see Ostlund is a better skater than Andersson at the same stage.

Andersson was all about grit, intangibles, and mythical goal scoring and hockey sense we never saw. He couldn't skate, not a good playmaker. He was built like an NHL'er when drafted. Oestlund needs to get stronger. Different types of builds, and Oestlund is a much better all-around offensive player with better hockey sense.

Ostlund, Lekkerimaki, and Ohgren are all first round talents. That line will completely dominate at the U20 level.

I guess you could call them the ÖÖL line, but they're a little young for that. Watching them makes you wonder why they didn't play together at Hlinka.

Goals from today's game is here(game center to know who scored, and assisted, each goal is here: DIF - BIF (7-1)): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCxJBpnP-yg

Dynamics and depth.

Ohgren played with Bystedt, Lekkerimaki played with Ohgren. Sweden wouldn't have had much of a 2nd line if all 3 were together.

Efter tunga förlusten för Djurgården – Smith: "Vi behöver pucktur"

Got some praise by Djurgården's coach. Thought Östlund, & Lekkerimäki did a fantastic job, and made a difference. He's sad for Lekkerimäki who didn't get to play in a set line, but thought the other two(Östlund, & Öhgren) were outstanding, with Liam having played well all the time and Noah was really good.

Noah ended up with over 10 minutes, which means he must've gotten around 5 minutes in the 3rd period I believe.

Moved up to the third line for today against Örebro.

Edit: or not. Their PR shows him on 4th, swehockey on 3rd.

Anything particular in his game you would like to see improve?

I'm not too worried about the points. Put that way Lekkerimäki and Öhgren outshines him, but the way that he moves and thinks the game over 200 feet is impressive. He is the one of him, Öhgren, and Lekkerimäki that is furthest from realising his full potential. Still think he's the one that will turn out the most advanced player when everything is said and done.

Just saying that there is a difference in potential and current results. I'd pick Lekkerimäki and Öhgren before Östlund if I would select a team to compete tomorrow. In 10 years, Östlund is my guy

Östlund has been by far the best swedish player in the first two games at the U18s. Head and shoulders above his teammates. He is a better skater, creative player and puck handler than any other draft elgible player in the tournament, I am sure. He is very underrated and overlooked because he has played with Öhgren and Lekkerimäki all year but I think there is a good chance that he becomes better than both (probably is right now). This goal was unreal, as was the Zegras-esque behind the back assist on Lekkerimäkis second goal.
