Therefore, yes it applies to compare Nico to MacKinnon and what Nico has done was much more impressive than MacK. The only thing is that MacKinnon won the Memorial Cup because of a stacked team with Drouin on it as well.

It shows how Nico was the most contributing factor for his team this year despite being on one of the worst team of the Q.

Enjoy him Devils fans. Sooooo much to like about his game. As a Flyers fan, I just hope we can shut him down enough to win more than not against him. I had Nico as my #1 but am still excited for Nolan. Will be fun to watch their matchup for years!

Thanks! I was all about Patrick once we won the lottery because all you'd hear was "Nolan Nolan Nolan" for this draft but the more I watched of Nico and studied his game, boy does he have the potential to be special. He's the dynamic potential #1C that this team has been looking for for a long long time and the thought of pairing him with Taylor Hall is very exciting.

Patrick will be good and has a better supporting cast at the moment (his shot is impressive, good hockey sense, good defensive play), but I really think Nico can be very very good as long as he is developed properly.

Exciting times ahead for the Devils!

Saying Mackinnon rode Drouin's coat tails when Mackinnon was clearly the best player on what is probably the best junior hockey team of all time.

Being the best player on the best junior team ever is certainly a better accomplishment than being the best player on an abysmal team

Right right, but reverse it and hischier would probably be the "best player on the best junior hockey team of all time" and mackinnon would be the best player on an abysmal team. The fact that that garbage team even made the playoffs is a feat of its own.

I'm pretty sure the 2004-2005 London Knights were the best junior team ever. That team could blow that Mooseheads team out of the water.

Pretty sure Hischier wouldn't have even been the best player on that team, Drouin was nearly as good as Mackinnon

12-13 Mooseheads we're far from the best junior team of all time.

Heh well we were spoiled by Tom Gulitti for quite a few years there and he was one of the best. Now we have someone who complains more about his personal life than covers the team.
