Why are people changing up the rankings so much and putting Dubois ahead of mcleod.... I see nothing that would indicate that at all... i dont even take Dubois in the top 10... McLeod will be the steal of this draft.

Is it just me or do other people see a lot of Duchene in this kid? Basically looked like a right handed version of Duchene. Apparently his favorite players Duchene as well lol

dude reminds me of Nathan Mack. He was reds most noticeable player. Dubois being whites most notable player! kids 1st line material in the making, I will never ever ever question anything that has this kid in the top 10. I regret that. Kid was quite unreal.

I think this kid has elite two-way center potential

He's got size and elite speed, noticeable hockey smarts, great vision and hands and a polished two way game. Only thing he is lacking is an elite shot, everything else is there.

His offensive upside might not be as high as the top picks in this draft, but his potential as an all-around player is arguably the best in the draft.

His skating is really dynamic, was really impressed with that aspect of his game. He's very Duchene-like in that he attacks with speed and has the skill to make things happen. His RH shot is a bonus too.

I wouldn't dare select him in the top 15.

If a team does, they'll regret it, there definitely is not enough offense there.

I agree with this. I have him 17th in this draft. I think he'll be a good NHL player, probably a low-end 2C, I just don't think he has more than 50 point upside.

I haven't watched him too terribly often, but from what I have seen, he reminds me a bit of a centre playing Blake Wheeler. Lots of similar qualities.

This is actually a comparison I never thought of. Good distinction!

Oy.

From Dec 03 in this thread.

From the descriptions he sounds like a center version of current Blake Wheeler.

Great speed, great not elite hands, good board work, never gives up on a play, can play with anyone and make them better. Our best forward night in and night out.

Great minds :D

And jesus that sucks about his injury. What happened?

I wonder how that will affect his draft position.

Tavares (2014) and Keith (2015) are NHL players who recently had similar injuries and were 100% within months. Tavares also suffered MCL damage.

New York Islanders captain John Tavares said the season-ending knee injury he sustained in February is behind him and he'll be 100 percent when training camp opens.

"It [the knee] is great," he said Monday during the NHL Player Media Tour. "I was cleared to play the first week of May, so if we were in the [Stanley Cup] Playoffs I'd be playing. I had a normal offseason and the injury has been put behind me for a good three months now."

tough break, kid! Wish you speedy recovery and back at it again next year.

Sucks. Team Canada U18 is going to be severely undermanned at this year's tournament. '98 is not a very strong year for Canada to begin with, but with key players going down due to injury, it will make for a forgettable tournament for the Maple Leaf.

It's not ideal for Michael. But I don't think it will affect his overall draft value. There are cases of players missing their entire draft year that were picked 3rd overall. Scouts have seen enough of him this year to make a good assessment. I always thought he would be closer to 10th-15th pick rather than a player competing for 5th overall.

"Mississauga Steelheads F Michael McLeod underwent arthroscopic surgery today for small meniscus tear. He'll return to the lineup in 3 weeks." As reported by Tony Ambrogio on twitter. Should be fine

Is there a thread for this guy? Haven't seen him play, just clips. Will someone tell me about him?
