His line didn't have a great opening 12 minutes but after that was NJ's best possession line. Speers Blandisi and McLeod gave Habs players fits on defense.

Agreed, McLeod seemed stressed and tentative at the beginning of the game. Did not have a great game but did crash the net at the right time.

Speers was really impressive. Tenacious. Good hands.

I'm expecting him back in Mississauga this year. I think the additional year in the OHL will prove beneficial for his development. The Steelheads should have a very competitive team this season.

I have used this comparable before. But if Mcleod can be a Kesler type of Center. I think he will have done well in the NHL.

Michael was already sent back and he'll be sent back next year as well. We have no reason to rush him. Let him tear up the OHL and develop his offensive game. He also needs to put on more muscle anyway before he's ready. He's no Zacha in that department.

The 3rd period of the game against Philadelphia McLeod was the best player on either side. It was quite remarkable how quick he has adjusted to the better players. He is big, fast, controls the puck, excellent on the cycle and finds players in the offensive zone leading to shots. If he can figure out that shot then NJ has a steal at 12.

McLeod is definitely more of a long term prospect. He will take two more years in junior and another half a year in the AHL, and that is fine.

Signed his ELC today. This was probably done so they can send him to Albany depending on when Sauga's seasons done (and its better to get it out of the way anyway, pretty sure every major Jr guy ahead of him has signed already).

As for how he's playing, Sauga all around isn't looking very good right now. The whole team looked off vs Windsor last night.

Is he playing on a line with his brother? or Owen Tippet
Tippett and Bastian. M. McLeod and Bastian seem attached at the hip. I didn't see the Guelph game, but if Guelph played anything like they did Monday they are in for a lot of beatdowns. Sauga has the talent to win the east, but from what I've seen this year they will be insanely frustrating to watch, Nylander's smooth playmaking will be missed by all. The McLeod's and especially Tippett love to play a fast up and down game, which is exciting, but sometimes they need to slow the pace down a bit and create better chances.
