I was able to watch the game last night on tv.. I honestly thought Poitras was the most noticeable player on the ice in this game... His defensive play and ability to win battles was awesome.

What an absolutely very impressive player. I know it's only his 5th game but there is no chance they send him back if he plays like this. He makes the team better when in the lineup

Looked fast enough there!

This kid just has the “it” factor. Energy, tenacity, skill.

He’s going to continue to defy expectations IMO because even after seeing this there is still going to be the “well he’s just got a mature, smart game at an early age but physically he’s going to hit his ceiling quicker, he doesn’t have the upside to be more than a middle six player” comments.

But I’d bet on him being one of those second rounders who basically skips his entire development path and just goes from junior player to indispensable NHL role player to truly invaluable star.

Looks like hes staying for the season

what an accomplishment for him!

Part of the reason the Bruins just won’t die.

Their team looks much worse with someone like Bobqvist replacing him like what was predicted before his pre season.

How in the hell are you 8-0-1 after loosing Hall, Bergeron, Krejci, Orlov and Bertuzzi in the same off season???

Well deserved. He looks like he's been playing for years out there!

Good goaltending and good defense. And lots of players buying in. We still have Pasta and Marchy.

They played some of their best hockey without Hall last year. Its debatable that they would have made it past Florida if they would have sat Bergeron and Krejci. JVR has played well in Bertuzzi's shoes. Boston also has arguably the best goalie tandem in the league. They run 2 #1s on a nightly basis. The team is just built very well, seasonly at least.

He's been off the score sheet lately so, perhaps, they will allow him to play at the WJR's? - wishful thinking.

In fairness they've played a really easy schedule, but Montgomery's system combined with elite talent on defense and two legit #1 goalies makes the best of what they have and will get them into the playoffs again. It'll be a tough road the next few weeks assuming McAvoy's getting suspended 2 or 3 games and Grzelcyk is on IR for a while. But they're a solid playoff team as currently constructed, even without the top firepower. Even with the easy schedule, they won the games they were supposed to win and took advantage of that, leaving only one point on the board. If they play exactly .500 hockey the rest of the season, they get to 90 points.

What's crazy is their only loss was an OT loss after they blew a 2 goal lead in the final 2 minutes to Anaheim because they got greedy and kept trying to hit the empty net rather than make the safe play

Guelph Storm fan here who watched him all last season. Played wing mostly. His hockey IQ is exceptional, plays both sides of the puck well. His linemates switched up a bit during the season, regardless of who he was playing with he made an impact, elevated those around him. The fact that this past year was his rookie year in the O due to Covid cancelations, the numbers he put up regardless... high GAF meter and a get for Boston.
Based on when you wrote this and how he played you lay waste to the Cory Pronman’s of the scouting world
