Another assist tonight. 5 assists in 4 preseason games. He’s the real deal it seems. Obviously time will tell during the season if he sticks past 9 games but I think there’s not much else Eklund needs to prove he’s one of the top 14 forwards, and with Kane gone it’s a no brainer.

I suspect just because he had a limited season last year, he’s slighter in frame, that he’s going to get worn down this season and hit a rookie wall but the entire experience will be good for him. He’s a special player.

Not because of these tweets, but due to Eklund being good enough to make these tweets happen, it will be a huge shock if he doesn’t make the team.

Sharks fans have to be ecstatic about how Eklund is looking, that organization badly needed a blue-chip prospect in this draft and it looks like they got one.
Still pretty mad we went mctavish…. Eklund imo had highest upside in draft

I love McTavish, he's going to be a great one. Might not have the same offensive upside but he's a warrior and a guy you win with. Hard to say which player will have the highest impact across their respective careers honestly.
Oh I agree , seemed more of a pick to add to zegras rather than a pick to hit a home run. Mctavish brings a lot of stuff that zegras doesn’t bring in his game…. Where eklund is more or less a similar player to zegras

As a Ducks fans it pains me to say it but yeah you guys hit the jackpot somehow. Situations feel very similar how we got Zegras, in a way

I saw he scored on a play with Balcers. Btw could we see those two together going forward?

Eklund-Hertl is going to be a fun duo. The rest of the Sharks, not so much.

Yes, was very ecstatic. He was the player I really wanted us to snag, but I thought there was no chance we got him unless we moved up.

Can’t say I’ve ever been this excited about a Sharks prospect. Kid is going to be a stud.

Passing on Eklund for McTavish will be seen as big of a mistake as Broberg over Zegras IMO.
It's highly possible... but I think McTavish will be better than Broberg overall in NHL and Zegras will be a decent amount better than Eklund so the gap is no where as big. That's no knock on Eklund, look at my posts about him and how much I wanted him and still do to this date. I was his biggest advocate on this board before the draft most likely.

Broberg was drafted 8th, McTavish was 3rd - there really is no comparison so don't really get where the comparison is coming from. I'm not even high on Broberg.

I think Eklund and Zegras will be similar. Eklund seems like he'll be better 2-way though, whereas Zegras will be a better playmaker.
