This is basically the summary of the email I wrote. I doubt it will do anything about this hit, but maybe they'll think twice the next time.

Honestly.. we've seen people suspended for delivering a hit from behind where the guy turns into the boards moments before the hit and all we hear is "you have to be in control when you go to hit someone, if he turns or not, you have to be able to hold up."

Well this case, Drouin is engaged on the boards, numbers out, he doesn't change positions before the hit, he;s in the same spot and Erne still comes in, pushes him hard into the class between the numbers and gives him a concussion.

He knew the player was in a vulnerable position, he saw the name, he saw the number and he proceeded to make the hit. That's a suspension in every league. Except the Q apparently.

Exactly. Erne's lucky he doesn't play in the OHL.

He got a 3 game suspension during the NHL pre-season for a hit to the head.

It wasn't a CHL or QMJHL suspension. They can't really take that suspension into consideration.

A worst hit than this one resulted in a 6 games suspension just 2 weeks ago. Erne deserved 5 games max given the league's suspension history. It wouldn't have hurt his WJC and he would only have missed 2 Remparts games since he's leaving next Friday anyway.

There was a knee on knee that resulted in a serious injury in that same game and you're not talking about it. Why?

Knee on knee? Do you mean Hardie's hit on Turnbull? It was a hip-check that ended badly. Hardie didn't come at him with his knee.

If it was Drouin, people would have gotten crazy because he would miss the WJC for real. A death sentence would probably have been asked!

He didn't slow down because he had no speed to begin with. That's a push, he didn't run him.

He's been kneed twice within the last 4 or 5 games. Obviously Turnbull's result was far worse than anything Drouin has been faced with which probably would've riled people up pretty badly but Hardie's hit wasn't a knee on knee.

I probably didn't see it properly but it was definitely a hit in the knee that should have been punished. At LEAST a 2.

Even Sorensen's cross check was dirtier.

He hit his knee but he also hit everything from the waist down because he stepped up on him really well and squared up (as far as a hip check is concerned).

Because it wasn't a knee on knee penalty. DUH!!!!!!!!
