It's actually the opposite. Fantilli has the higher floor and Carlsson the higher ceiling. Fantilli's physical gifts provide that easy floor and Carlson's brain his higher ceiling.

I see what you're saying but Carlsson has already shown his game against men which proves his floor. I agree with the brain part which is why I think the floor is higher however if Fantilli figures things out his tools are way better. Better passing (Carlsson's vision at the moment is better imo), better shot, better physicality, etc.

I don't feel Lafreniere is really the comparable. More likely in the Byfield mould. Unreal natural tools but you wonder if they ever click. But, at a minimum there is a middle six winger just based off of those tools. Speed, size, strength, will always allow those guys to be a strong forechecker and play a simplified game. Although, the same was thought to be true for Puljujarvi, who while a strong forechecker has never had the game click at the NHL level for a sustained period of time. Lafreniere is different in that he really had no elite skills that were obviously going to translate right away, but people felt the combination of skills and high-IQ would overcome it.

Agree. Anaheim should be in a better position as a team in 24-25 to add him into the roster as well. Next season is still going to be big growing pains for them.
