C Kirby Dach (2019, 3rd, CHI)

  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Yeah, I really do not understand the whispers of skating issues with Dach. It seems like we see this with a number of larger players, but I just wonder if some of that comes from comparing them too much smaller players like Hughes or Zegras. At 6'-4" and 200 lbs., of course he will pale in comparison to some of the smaller players.

Kurt Browning is a tremendous skater, not so much a hockey player. There were concerns about Scheifele (sp) and his skating in junior. You really only need the first two or three strides to get where you need to be. Some guy that is 6'4" and 220 pounds that can get there will be just fine.

Typical illusion big skaters give, Dach looks like a really good skater for his size he may not skate like jack Hughes but he will be a train once he fills out, Dach will be nearly impossible to contain when he has a man body.

Just like Draisaitl. Small shifty players like Gaudreau give the impression that they're a lot faster than they really are, while bigger ones look sluggish on the ice when they're actually pretty fast.

Yup, while skating is one of the games bigger assets the down low puck protection size and reach offers can’t be forgotten, love watching draisaitl stand still and shield the puck with his body while a defender can’t even move him

Dach looks like a better skater than Leon was at 17 and is also has a couple inches on drats in height

For sure. I don't think I've ever seen a top-5 prospect as awkward a skater as Drai was.

I have Kirby Dach at #3 on my list as well, I don't see skating issues at all and his skill and hockey sense is through the roof. I thought I was watching a young Rick Nash the other day.

There are no skating concerns. People just have no idea what they're talking about with bigger players who don't have an effortless looking stride. You either skate like McDavid or the Hughes boys or you have skating issues on this site.

Dach is playing like a beast against P.A. He will do whatever it takes to win, such an impressive player. His compete level is off the charts from what I'm seeing.

These are 17 year old kids, Dach's got some inconsistencies to iron out in his game absolutely, but the talent is there. I also wonder how much injuries might've bothered him during the year.

But he lives & breathes the game, guy doesn't even have social media. He seems to have improved his skating from last year to this year. I don't worry about his commitment to becoming a good pro.
