November 21st -> December 28th: 17 games 1+2=3.
So he has had a 26 (17+6) span of games where he has total of 2 goals, 3 assists
that gives him 5 points in 26 games (0.19 ppg)

Dach goes big against Cozens in a 6-4 win. 5 points (1g + 4a).

Side note: Rangers had 4 scouts at the game.

Not really a surprise. Early Week-showdown between 2 kids likely to go top 10, on a day there is one OHL game, one QMJHL game, 3 other WHL games (but not many big prospects playing), no USHL games and 2 NCAA games. With such a light schedule, it makes perfect sense to fly in your veteran/cross-checking scouts to watch it. I wouldn't be shocked if multiple teams with likely top 15 picks had solid representation there.

I didn't watch the game, but the official score sheet only gave him a goal and 2 assists.

This was the 2nd time in as many weeks that Dach has outshone Cozens in a head to head matchup in front of a bunch of scouts. Yzerman himself was at the last one. I'll be fairly surprised if Cozens goes before Dach in June.

Just watched the highlights. Yeah, it was a goal and 4 assists.

Wow

I love Dach, but why is he so f***ing inconsistent? He has stretches where he puts up barely any points, then others where he lights the world on fire.

They seem to have awarded the assist retroactively. Still not sure if he got a stick on that turnover by Henry or if the puck went directly to McKay.

He’s more of a pure playmaker, so a lot of his production depends on if his teammates bury their chances or not.

Disagree, he's shooting more and seems to have figured out that he can beat goalies clean. His strong suit is his playmaking, yes, but he has a fantastic shot. Just needs to use it more to add that next layer to his game.

On the season, he's 5 goals and about ~15 shots behind Cozens, who is regarded as a significantly better shooting/scoring threat. I think that's notable given that Cozens is also playing in a loaded top 6. Saskatoon doesn't have nearly as many threats up front and that makes it easier to zero in on Kirby.

I’m not saying he can’t shoot, but I think his mindset is absolutely pass-first whenever he has the puck.

He’s grown this area of his game a lot since last year, but I think he will always be a playmaker at heart.

Dach has always been better than Cozens.
Maybe more talented, but I don't think you can state that as a fact. Tons of less talented players are better/more effective than the talented ones. I don't think the talent cap is big, they're just different types of players and at the end of the day, they're scoring at an identical rate.

Craig Button was talking about these two on TSN radio (Cozens & Dach)
said these two will be compared by which ever teams select them more than any other pairing in the draft, probably more than hughes and Kakko. Talked about when he texts with scouts out west these two are always mentioned in the same sentence together, you just can't bring up one with out comparing him to the other.

Said both;
Play in the same league
Play in the same conference
pretty much the same size
20 days apart in birthday
Both listed at 2 & 3 by NHLCS NA

Not sure I agree with this, it really comes down to whether you think a knock on IQ or a knock on skating is a bigger issue in todays game.

While I think Dachs style of play translates better to the NHL style of play I think his limitations are far more difficult to overcome than Cozens. To me Cozens is the more risk/reward of the 2 but fits in on more teams.
