Must be tough for you guys. You went so hard in the paint for Kakko and tearing down Hughes' game/potential, and now Kakko has proven to be so bad for the first month of the season. And that's with him having played against men last year and being more "NHL ready".

You are both wrong, end of story. Discussions were mostly fine. I can only see one particular poster constantly bashing Hughes there and he is still doing it and you guys are feeding him.

Back to Hughes. The exciting part about him is that there are a couple of plays a game where he has the puck in the o-zone, is zipping around, and gets slowed down ever so slightly. I mention this because in 2-3 years when he bulks up 10+ pounds, he's likely going to be able to do whatever he wants with the puck. He'll bounce off those checking attempts and will likely gain another step in his skating. Absurd how good he is already with his slight frame.

Multiple of the earlier Hughes threads were dedicated Hughes bash threads, they were created to rip on him with breakdowns and predictions about how terrible he was and was going to bust. Anyone trying to "both sides" this one just because there is now 1 or 2 Devils fans trolling the Kakko thread is delusional.

Go all the way back to January before any team had a real stake in this, and it was Kakko fans trashing Hughes to pump their guy up.

Smh Finnish posters were super toxic against Hughes all summer on both threads and now they play the "I am rooting for both players to succeed." There are pages of pages of proof just click on the numbers.

That being said, I think it's fair to say that the Finnish posters and other Kakko guys should proooobably take a seat. I'm on neither side here, but objectively speaking Kakko has been pretty bad so far. Like, bad bad. Not just not putting up points, but bad in every way. It's fine. He'll get there. At the moment though all those pumping up Kakko are probably feeling a bit sheepish at the moment.

Hughes has 7 points in his last 6 games while driving play. Kakko has literally been one of the worst players in the league thus far. Probably not a good idea to mention the two in the same breath rn

I dont get why you need to downplay Kakko in Hughes thread to boost Hughes up? Hughes has been good and better from those two.

Not all things are equal. The Rangers are getting destroyed with Kakko on the ice 5v5. He looks sluggish, hangs onto the puck too long, and his shot doesn't look great. Of course his on ice shooting percentage should increase, leading to more points. But he looks pretty bad atm

This thread was rediculous before the draft. Before the lottery it was me vs. about 5 or 6 Finnish posters who were delusional. I told them you’d better hope that Kakko starts off hot and Hughes starts off slow or else you will look dumb.

LOL, you really think this has been even-sided?? From the moment it was clear who the top two picks are (Hughes and Kaako) AND who most likely would be the overall #1 pick would be (Hughes), one side ratchet up the attacks on one player, if you think it wasn't the Kaako side attacking Hughes heavily and more so than the other way around, then yeah, you're being quite delusional.
