C Jack Hughes - USNTDP (2019, 1st, NJD) Part 6

  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. To be honest, if anyone paid any attention to the Hughes threads during the offseason there was a TON of posts diminishing Jacks ability by many many Kakko supporters, also questioning if he can play with ‘men’ like Kakko which was such a joke of a narrative to create. So its only natural a few posters will throw it right back in their faces. You get what you give.

Both players will have great careers. Jack is getting better and better and Kakko will develop into a great forward as well.

As, there were many Jack's supporters in Kaapo's thread.. So both camps, should be looking in the mirror.

As soon as Hughes was selected #1 overall and one slot ahead of Kakko, he became a huge target among the pro-Kakko contingent that started this little pissing war, if that contingent had left well enough alone, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Let’s be honest here. There were very few people claiming Kakko wasn’t NHL ready or cutting him down. Feel free to post examples if you can find them. But there were plenty of people putting Hughes down and coming up with reasons why his skills wouldn’t translate or he’d be better off playing wing or he’s too small.

This narrative that suddenly both sides were giving it equally is bullshit and just reactionary from Kakko fans because Hughes is currently playing better. If you’re seeing Devils fans putting Kakko down now it’s because of all the shit that was posted about Hughes over the summer by Kakko fans (mostly Finnish people). I’m not saying I condone it but it was definitely lopsided against Hughes. Anyone can go back and look for themselves. The proof is right there.

While I agree... I don't see the need to defend the kids either as if what goes on here is gonna hurt their feelings. Some of the defenders sound like Terrell Owens defending Tony Romo...:shakehead

By the way... some of the Hughes criticism was simply laughed off (wide turns, etc...) as should some of the Kakko stuff

No one were saying, that Kakko werent ready.. But several jersey fans were all over Kakko thread, putting Kakko down.. And like you said, the proof is right there

Hughes camp, started it before the draft.. If they wouldnt have, there wouldnt be anything;)

Multiple of the earlier Hughes threads were dedicated Hughes bash threads, they were created to rip on him with breakdowns and predictions about how terrible he was and was going to bust. Anyone trying to "both sides" this one just because there is now 1 or 2 Devils fans trolling the Kakko thread is delusional.

Hughes is right now better than Kakko, and might be that in the future also..

Still not removing the fact that you guys swarming Kakko threads preseason..
