Yeah, and one of your big Euro scouts is now head of Leafs euro scouting in Vuori. When your that good, for that long people start to poach your talent. A gift and a curse.

Yeah. I think that's the main reason Holland demanded a 3rd from the leafs for Babcock -- he's stick of being a development centre for the entire league. Wings' fans are pretty sick of it too, but there's nothing ya can do about it obviously. It's part of the business after all.

And as for that scout that the leafs poached, I could be wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that he was a big part of Wings taking Tatar, Jurco and Pulk. Sucks losing that guy for sure if that's the case.

He measured in at 6 feet 0.5'' today when he was listed at 6'2''. This could impact his stock in the wrong way.

Probably not. Other places besides NHL Central scouting (dobber propects, elite prospects, etc..) had him listed as 6' or 6'1". Plus if someone is intent on drafting him, I'm sure they've had scouts that have seen him live.

I don't think that anyone who seen him play could think he is 6'2", also MHL official website lists him at 185 cm, which is something like 6'0.8" I guess, so yes, in the 6'0"-6'1" region.

Surprised by his CHL plans, just less than two monts ago he was asked about it and denied that and Vityaz team representatives stated that they had plans for him.

My guess is NHL teams may of told him and his agents to go to the CHL, instead of accepting whatever his KHL team was offering to try to lock him in for the next 2 to 3 years. After Guryanov this year, I don't think many teams want to leave guys in Russia where they have little control over how much ice time the guy gets. He's going to get minutes in the CHL regardless, and if they put him in the AHL they can control it. An NHL team can't really call up a KHL franchise and tell them to play their prospect more minutes for developmental purposes.

So will he go 1st overall in the CHL import draft?

Are there other high end names available in the import draft?
Import draft is rarely done purely on skill. Agents have power to dictate where he goes. There are a few big names, some who teams might be able to hold on for 3 years, whereas Rubtsov I think is there 1 year max then on to the AHL. Some of the guys I'd think have a realistic chance of coming over are Eeli Tolvanen (already in the USHL) and Nico Hirshier.

Russian national team is likely going to be downgraded to the level of Switzerland and Slovakia as all the kids who have talent leave the country before being fully developed and never reach their potential.

There will be no more Kuznetsovs, Ovechkins, Malkins, Datsyuks, Tarasenkos, Markovs, Gonchars etc. coming from Russia because all the kids with similar talent leave the country at 16-17 and become busts.

An Artemi Panarin might pop out once in a five years, but only because scouts did not notice him when he was younger.

Russian national team will be reduced to the level of Switzerland unless the Russian Hockey Federation comes up with a way to keep these kids in Russia.

Vityaz pesident says, Rubtsov still has 2 years left on the contract, and I doubt there is a point to go to the CHL, having a KHL contract, because he won't be able to play in the NHL anyway.

And yet he agreed to let Rubtsov go?

Sometimes you need to play hardball with these kids. Russian hockey managers are too pansy.
