Debrincat, Steele, Brooks, Mascherin are all the CHLers outproducing him in ppg that were drafted in 2016 excluding raddysh since you already mentioned him.

You are right. But GR is out scoring all CHLers drafted above him...and all but Steel in the 1st rd in the CHL.

And off more context, Rubstov is the youngest....with him and Mascherin being the only 18 years olds. And Brooks is 20 years old for God's sake.

Regardless, he is off to a good start. Of course certain Russian posters will say it's because he is playing in a lesser league. Oh well. At least he is playing as opposed to watching in the KHL.

Hope he keeps up the great work.

This skill has been here since the Flyers drafter him.

There's also a good chance he'll be in the AHL next season playing on the Phantoms. Step below KHL, yet pro level hockey. I could see the Flyers brass go this route.

It's too early to say what'll happen next year. Let's hope he can finish out this year healthy, have a good playoff and then a good summer of training. He will have to prove himself at camp.

If he fills out a bit, it might mean the AHL, or he could go back to the Q, with Chicoutimi trading him to a contender if they aren't (and aren't likely to be). I could not hurt him to go back to the Q and then lead the WJC team. In fact, I would have no objection to him going back to the KHL for that matter, but I think he wants to be in North America.

All his skills on display. Wraparound tipped by Roy, nice pass to his winger, nice goal showing patience then quick release. Always goes to the net.

The Flyers won't him. I expect Rubtsov to remain in the QMJHL fir another season, play in the WJC tournament and become fluent in English. I do expect Vorobyov over next season playing Lehigh Valley and being a big contributor.

Best he learns to play center and improve faceoffs next season unless they see him as a winger going forward. He won't sure won't learn English in Chicoutimi.

Game winner tonight. It's cut out, but in typical Rubtsov fashion, he created the turnover that led to the play by forechecking the Shawinigan player as he exited his own zone.

Lol playing against defence like that won't make him better. I can't even call that defending. Should be in the VHL..

Except apparently the relationship between his KHL team and VHL affiliate are so ****ed up that Vityaz couldn't or wouldn't even send him there.

"Ok, kids, now let me show how KHL pros do it". :D

He is losing time in that league.
Versus what? MHL? VHL wasn't an option and he wasnt good enough for playing time in the KHL. Although I would agree that most young Russian players will develop better in Russia, but not all and his situation was clearly not optimal with that team/org. You disagree?

Maybe the talk about whether he belongs in the Q should be saved for when he is the best player in the league, or even his team.

Radulov played 2 years in the Q, and it's hard to say how good he might have turned out if Russia didn't poach him from the NHL. Perhaps he even could have won a real Cup, and not the Strelka and Belka Cup.

A "real cup"? Ok, thanks for the perfect example of the north american hockey chauvinism.

Radulov example is even more hilarious.

MHL would be better than Q for him.

He would have had a 2-3 year development path in all 3 russian leagues ahead of him. Instead he chose to score some points in the Q. Ok, but I can see where that will lead him long term.

He proved he wasn't ready for the KHL so he chose another way. Why arguing? Yeah, he isn't on a level of Tarasenko, Kuznetsov or Kaprizov, but he still can be a solid NHLer.

And as far as I undestand, he can play in the AHL the next season, because he wasn't drafted from CHL.

There are a series of posts in this thread about why the VHL was not an option for him this year. I'm personally fine with either developmental path for him, but the reason that people don't respect your opinion on the matter is because you see it as being completely one-sided for anybody who chooses to leave the Russian development system to come to NA.
