C/F Aidan Park - Green Bay Gamblers, USHL (2024 undrafted)

You’re right. Don’t trust context that explains a situation you know nothing about.

Instead look at EP and decide exactly who belongs in what round.

Congrats to you that this kid has his dreams ruined. You must be so proud of yourself.

It was Shattuck coaches (ejected from the 1st line for Brodie Ziemer), NHL scouts (undrafted), USDP scouts (not selected) and the USHL system (didn't join the team at 18) who spoke.

Thats not true. He was every bit as good if not better than Celebrini and Eiserman a couple years ago. Difference is that those two improved and Park’s development seems to have stagnated a bit. He was an early bloomer, it happens often

He will still get drafted. 2nd round is a reach at this point but probably somewhere in rounds 3-5. He was good enough to make NTDP and he was a surprising omission.
Finally not... Undrafted...

But none of them actually spoke. Those were your assumptions based on the circumstantial evidence. Once again, someone just told you that you are missing context, so maybe listen to someone who knows more than you do instead of beating your chest that you were right about a player not reaching their dream.

What context then ? You who know everything.

Why did Ziemer take his place at Shattuck ?
Why was he not selected by USDP ?
Why didn't he play in the USHL on a regular basis ?
Why wasn't he drafted ?

I have always heard excuses about this player and never seen anything sporting about something that followed.

For now, the idea that the guy scored a lot of points because he was playing next to Celebrini and Eiserman isn't crazy.

I stick to sports news. Not to shake me for stats 4 years ago. Start by listening to the facts.

The entire league also thought Artemi Panarin didnt deserve it either
Artemi Panarin was not drafted because he was too small and skinny and was a late bloomer.

Afterwards you can actually find examples of undrafted players. But often there is an explanatory narrative. There with Park, I have a hard time seeing one other than his insufficient level of play.

62 points in 51 games with Green Bay this year and off to Michigan next year. Ranked 151 for NA skaters by central scouting and listed at 6'1 185 lbs. Think he gets drafted late this year as an overager? Don't know a ton about him but seems like he has a well rounded enough game to favorably project as a 3rd/4th line role someday based on how of the talk about him is regarding his motor and willingness to take the body, forecheck hard...seems to be enough skill there to compliment that.

I had him ranked 150th last year. He's very close to breaking into my recent top 128. So probably between 130 and 140.

Still the same problem as last year : not talented enough offensively, not physical enough defensively.

But he's having a full USHL season this time.

I have read through this thread and from the sounds of it you haven't actually watched a video of this guy play? You are only making comments based on what others have said.

Honestly (and I feel like I'm one of the few who do here), I saw him playing in videos with Shattuck at U16 and with Team USA.

I challenged the fact that he wasn't at all at the level of Eiserman and Celebrini, then that he didn't have the profile to be selected in the first round, then I was skeptical that he would be drafted in the second or third round.

Rereading the thread gives me the impression that I was the only one who correctly estimated his value.

You can watch the player 100 times (nobody did it here anyway), but if you don't know how to assess a player's level, you're wasting your time (and there are other things to do in life than diligently watch Aidan Park in the USHL when you're not a paid USHL scout).

Similarly, you're wasting your time creating a secondary account to denigrate me again. Find you a girlfriend. You will think of something other than me.
