C David Goyette - Sudbury Wolves, OHL (2022, 61st, SEA)

I would like Habs to keep a close look on him. Could be a good second-rounder to get.

GWG on a breakaway in OT tonight vs Hamilton ! 28th of the year 1 goal 1 assist tonight. What a player !

I saw Goyette twice this year, with two very different outcomes/opinions. The first was a TSN CHL game of the week, and frankly, we was the best player on the ice, BY FAR!! His speed and hands were on full display.

Then I watched the TPG, and frankly, he was invisible.

I will not make an opinion on only two games, but I will say this, if he does make it to the 2nd round, the Habs would be wise to gamble on his upside, especially since GOHU have mentioned that the team's philosophy will now be to build a team based on "playing fast". Goyette's style would fit like a glove.

I thought he was the best forward with team red a the prospect game Warren stole a goal from him behind the goalie and he hit a cross bar ! Explosive as always with 4 SOG. For a team that almost didn’t touch the puck he did well.

A goal and assist against Niagara - 1 period in.

Goyette leads all rookies in the O and also leads his own team by 20 points . When’s the last time a rookie did this ? His old teammate with the Wild in Ottawa Cedrick Guindon is second 10 points behind. They were chosen mid first round in the OHL in 2020. The Toronto kids are always overhyped in Ontario. Ottawa is doing very well lately. Scouts should stop overselling the GTHL.

This point should not be overlooked by teams. His production relative to his teammates is quite impressive and I bet that he'll be one of those players that people will look back on and wonder why he wasn't drafted higher.

I wish I could have watched some full games of him, but few inter-conference games this year made that tough.

Goyette is an extraordinarily good player who is underrated due to not having a season last year and the team he is on. He’s the second best draft eligible prospect in the OHL.

I would like to hear your opinion on this Zhilkin/Haight/Ludwinski/Goyette/Poitras talk (approximately at 1:30:00-1:36:00).

I share the concern of his passing skills that one guy is talking about but I don't see it (or any other side of his game) as a major issue that will ruin his chances breaking into top 9 forward group of an NHL team. He has contributed in so many ways for his team in the games I've seen that for me he is the most intriguing OHL center prospect after Wright.

Goyette will go between 12 and 18 at the draft. The OHL is getting zero recognition this year but teams know its still the best Junior league. Goyette would be on everybody’s top 20 list for the draft if he played for London or Ottawa instead of Sudbury with the season he’s having.
