Wouldn't general scoring have decreased since Lindros played? As well as say Lemieux, who is often compared stats wise.

For eg, 42 pts in 15 now is a lot more impressive due to the times than 38 in 16 was then.

Ive been hovering this kid for 2 years and even I didn't expect a performance like this in the playoffs, holy ****

After watching him at the U18 WC a couple of years ago I knew he was going to do some very special stuff in his draft year. I'm not overly surprised, he is the best prospect I've seen.

The next closest guy, Nick Ritchie, has 26 points. When Lindros got 38 pts, the guys behind him was at 35 and 33, and so on.

McDavid's performance these playoffs are basically unheard of. :handclap:

No schedule released yet for the OHL final? Gotta see Connor continue his assault on the record book. It's interesting, but it would have been more interesting seeing him play at the Men's World Hockey Championship... but all in all, Connor deserves a shot to end his junior career with a OHL Championship and Memorial Cup appearance...and then a good summer to rest, train and get ready for the next 20 years. It's been a treat watching this kid grow.

Connor McDavid youth stats?

Would be interested too see how much Connor dominated in say bantam or pee wee. We all know he put up 209 points in the gthl but how about earlier than that?

bantam and peewee are GTHL.As well as every other age group both minor and major. Also 3 levels,A,AA,AAA.There are 587 teams in the GTHL including all ages.104 AAA,257 AA,226 A.
As a side note there are also 35 local house league associations with 4-8 teams in each age group. And each association has a select team for each age group.
Also Mississauga,Oakville,Brampton,Pickering,Oshawa,Whitby,Vaughan and Newmarket(all border cities)have full programs for all ages and levels.
There's a lot of hockey played here in the GTA.

Ok 209 points in midget gthl. How did connor do in bantam, pee wee, or any other division. Since McDavid is getting compared to Sidney Crosby, Sid had 86 goals, 96 assists, 182 points in bantam during the 2000-2001 season. McDavid's bantam season was like 4 years ago so pretty recent. Anyone know or have any ideas.

McDavid didn't play midget. You get drafted to the OHL in minor midget.

Eliteprospects says he played 'two' seasons with the same team as a 14 year old (2nd year bantam).

72 points in 33 games in the GTMMHL with the Toronto Marlboros Minor Midget AAA
209 points in 88 games in 'midget' with the Toronto Marlboros Minor Midget AAA.
^both of these point totals were in the 2011-2012 season, as a 14 year old. I do not know if they are two different sets of points, or if the 2nd set is his entire season wihle the 1st set is from a smaller set of games.

Seems he was playing a year up as Midget usually starts at 15.

Connor was Bantan aged playing Minor Midget. He played up a year and was granted exceptional status.

Minor midget -15,midget jr - 16,midget sr - 16,17.McDavid got 72 pts in minor midget then went straight to the "O" being granted exceptional player status.

How about his stats from wherever he played during the 2010-2011 season.

I can be very hard to find those stats. Often the younger ages don't have the stats tracked. Sometimes they are also kept private.

Either way, good luck trying to find them but I think you will have some difficulty.

I can't find his numbers but his peewee team went 31-0-2.156 GF,27 GA.

He played up a year.

McDavid played in the OHL as a 15 year.

He played minor midget as a 14 year old, despite it being for 15 year olds.

He was playing up a year then - I think he pretty much always played up - or at least from a very young age. He was also with the Marlies the year before, I think - for bantam?

Prior to that he played for YSE. '

IIRC, he and Bennett moved to the Marlies together.

The more I watch McDavid, the more I think he might become better than Crosby. His development trajectory is a bit different, but it seems that he might have a higher ceiling. He was more dominant in the World Juniors this year than Crosby was in his final WJC, and his playoffs this year have been almost impossibly impressive. The combination of good size with world-class skating, world-class puck control and world-class vision is a toolkit that very, very few players have ever possessed. He'll also be set up in Edmonton for individual success to a much greater degree than Crosby ever has been in Pittsburgh.

I want to temper my excitement for the kid, but I can't wait to see what he can do in the NHL next year.

Seemed like Crosby would win many Art Rosses but McDavid might leave him with only two. I hope McDavid adds some more weight to get around 190-200. Hopefully he has a shorter summer than what was expected because I can't wait to see him possibly see him in the Memorial Cup.
