This kid is simply ridiculous. Sincerely hoping he goes to an Eastern team that isn't the Leafs

that was sick.... oh my, the way he moves his legs and controls the puck at the same time, its all as one for him.

the kid is for sure a better goal scorer then Crosby. Unbelievable, this kid is just out of this world. Its sickening.

sucks to say this, I want him in my division just so he can visit Rogers arena 2-3 times a year.

connor mcdavid, coming soon to a sold out arena near you.

His numbers don't reflect how good he's been. He's better.

His first 6 games back from injury he wasn't himself. Take those away (-6 GP, -10pts) 30 games 88 points. 2 shy of 3 points per game.

holy cow.

that was cheeky. just flipped it right past him. great recognition that the goalie was too deep in like a millisecond.

For sure a better goal scorer than Crosby? C'mon man.

well its not unrealistic, I personally think Patrick Kane, has a better wrist shot then Crosby, the same with PHil Kessel stamkos, naturally those 3 guys are better puck shooters then crosby.

but yea, I think he does have a better wrist shot then Crosby. He relies a lot on scoring goals from within, McDavid is a deadly sniper himself.

He's gonna have to learn to score more from beyond the hash marks if he's going to become a better goal scorer than 87. NHL dmen don't typically let you walk in all alone too often, which is how McDavid scores a ton of his goals.

This won't go well because I just don't agree with much of what you've said. Crosby's release might be the best in the game. Velocity wise no he's not kessel but his release is elite.

McDavid scores most of his goals within 10 feet of the net. Even ask the kid what he needs to work on. He'd say his shot.

I don't think pat Kane has a top 50 shot. He's got top 3 hands though.

That's a bold statement. Crosby has one the most deceptive, powerful wrist shots, and arguably the best backhander in the game. Not to mention his slapshot is top class. The thing is, there's nobody good enough (besides Malkin, whom he doesn't normally play with at even strength) to set up pucks for him often enough to be a recognized goal scorer. He scored 51 goals in 2010.

If anything, one might say one of McDavid's weaker qualities is his shot.

Regardless, I am super excited for this guy and Eichel to step foot into the NHL

Just a heads-up: The OHL will be streaming games for free on February 27th & 28th, which just so happens to coincide with two Otters games. Good chance to catch a few full games of McDavid!

He's obviously amazing, but yeah, I don't even think I've seen a highlight where he's shot from outside the hash marks. Does he do it, or is he just so good 1-on-1 (or 1-on-2) that he doesn't need to?

Other posters will have seen more of him, but in the roughly 15 games I've seen him play I'm pretty sure I've yet to see him shoot from beyond the hash marks. I guess it is a testament to how good he is that he can beat defensemen one on one to get in close, but he'll have to learn to shoot more at the NHL level.
