Definitely go live, so you can see how he is without the puck. Seeing a generational talent play live is special. You can see the magic of the puck just following him around and how he anticipates the play. Not to mention his skating will shine.

Go to it, IMO. Not very often you get to see a player like McDavid play live.

Absolutely. He's unbelievable to see live. You'll probably never seen anything like it in the OHL unless youre old enough to have watched guys like Lindros and Gretzky.

For some context to show just how superior of a talent he is even to a guy like Nathan MacKinnon who had 77 points in 44 games...McDavid will get to that mark in almost half the games.

500th post must be about McDavid.... so.....here are some stats:
49 points in 17 games. 2.88 PPG. On pace for 173 points (for 60 games). 17 points ahead of anyone not playing for a team named Otters in the OHL. 0.94 PPG better than anyone else not on Erie. He is 9 points in the lead of the CHL scoring race (and has played 6 less games than Loiseau in the Q).

In other words, he is talented at hockey.:handclap:

Crosby at the age of 17 had

168 points in 62 games. 52 points ahead of the second leading scorer in the qmjhl which was his own linemate. 60 points ahead of any non linemate. Led the entire chl in scoring by 38 points 168 to 130 over perry.

Led the qmjhl playoffs in scoring with 31 points in 13 games and then led the memorial cup in scoring with 11 points in 5 games

210 points in 80 games in total

Mcdavid has a lot of work to do to match crosby

a 1 goal and 3 assist game will forever be known as the Connor McDavid Special.

I'd still like to see a little more goal scoring from him.

15 goals in 17 games isn't enough? He'll always be a pass first guy, he's well on his way to smashing his career high (28) in goals.

Another fun fact stat is that at +33 through 17 games, his +/- is higher than any non-Erie player has points haha.

Two totally different leagues but it occurred to me that Connor McDavid is scoring at Gretzky pace during the 1984-85 NHL playoffs where he scored 17-30-47 in 18 games.

McDavid has 15-34-49 in 17 games. Again, and I know OHL is nothing like the NHL, but to be putting up Gretzky equilvent numbers? This is scary, this kid is certainly living to the hype, let's just hope he can translate these comparisons to Crosby at the NHL next year

I think Crosby is stepping up his game against the McDavid hype :sarcasm:
He scored 5 assists last night :amazed: McDavid as we all know had another 4 point night.
God I can't wait to see these 2 guys play against each other.

Like you already said you realize, this is extremely foolish

I think we can all agree the Mackinnon stats are BS. He had some injuries, wasnt always at his best. Drouin easily beat him for points and well... dont think there is any argument about who the better player is, unless we use your logic.

Again, your main point isnt wrong, but we know junior stats can be sooo misleading and this is one case where you are selling Mackinnon real short. Kid may not be McDavid level, but has certainly proven to be a "upper-tier" prospect, with the likes of a Tavares, Stamkos, Kane

Yeah. Mackinnon was one hell of a prospect too. I don't see McDavid putting up 63 points in his rookie year. McD will be better than Mackinnon but won't compare to his rookie year IMO mainly due to the kind of team he will be on.

Mcdavid is going to be a great player but I'm not really sold on his generational status. I think he will be on Stamkos and Tavares' level in the NHL which isn't bad at all but it isn't close to Crosby and Malkin.

I'd be happy if McDavid can be as good as Malkin.

Most peoples opinions are different...

Anyone can recommend me a good game to watch from this season ?

October 13th against the Rangers. Think it was the 13th. Maybe 11th. At any rate, McDavid was playing pond hockey out there. Had five points half way through the second as I recall

But why? What else is there to reach generational status?
