And then run a PP like so:

-------------------------- Gaudreau
-------------- Jenner ---------------
Laine -------------------- Bedard
---------- Werenski ---------------

Should be a great PP but FWIW most Jackets fans are already looking forward to David Jiricek taking over the top unit from Werenski.

Yeah adding his monster one timer will make that an even more deadly PP. Jiricek already has one of the heaviest one timers among NHL dmen.

Two right shot bombs at the key and left point with two elite playmakers on the right side is the same blueprint that has made Washington's PP so dangerous for so long.

It's your fault that you chose this stupid if of a hill to die on. People say it's a great opportunity because Gaudreau and Laine are capable of things few other players are. That is indisputable.

They also have a lot of talent/offense from their blue line. It's clear as day why it would be awesome to see him in that situation.
Not really, it hasn’t done anything for Boone Jenner. And I’m not “stupid” for thinking differently than you. Trying making an argument with facts rather than “If anyone can’t see it the way I see it they’re stupid”

Jenner w/ Gaudreau: 1.67 p/60 in 430 5v5 mins
Jenner w/o Gaudreau: 0.60 p/60 in 100 5v5 mins

Yeah, it's almost like half the team has been lost to injury this year, including Jenner, who was scoring at the same PPG as last year before his injury despite that fact.
Ugh you are so exhausting to be around

Whatever, I guess it’s better for Jenner to not have JG as his primary linemate than it is to have him as his primary linemate. Glad we agree.

Where'd you come up with that?

Maybe it's better to play for a team that hasn't already used 12 different defenseman....

I've seen two Pats games now since the WJC. A couple things I've noticed live.

* Bedard is shorter than I expected. He might only be 5'9" right now
* He is much faster in person than on TV
* The building is hyper focused every time he touches the puck in the offensive zone. It's an absolute thrill to watch.
That's one thing I've noticed a lot about Bedard. It's a surreal experience at times, the mood in the arena shifts when he's touching the puck. It's like every eye is on him and every conversation pauses, everyone knows where he is at all times. Heck I've even caught a linesman getting lost watching him lol

Will he play in WHC?

He has likely the best international junior career of all time. Would be nice to see if that continues with men.

NHL potential, whatever.

We’re at the point where it’s simply a fact that pre-draft Bedard is a notably more impressive player than pre-draft McDavid.
McDavid was very easily the more impressive player. Don't get me wrong, Bedard is fantastic, but McDavid was just on a different level with his skating ability.

Bedard is definitely better on the PP though. I think he's the most dangerous PP player I've ever seen from the right flank.

But take away PP points and he's actually trailing Benson by 1 point (obviously Benson has played 5 more games, and has the better ES supporting cast, but its still notable).

Probably depends on how his junior season ends. Regina are terrible (currently barely holding onto the 8 seed), so if they lose to Winnipeg (who are a juggernaut) in the first round, then I think he'll absolutely play in the worlds.

I don’t agree, at all. I watched more than a dozen games of McDavid during his junior career and have seen easily double that of Bedard over the last 2.5 years, not counting every international game each guy played.

Opinion: Bedard does more with less on a shift-by-shift basis. He’s more consistent and he hurts opponents in more ways. He’s notably better away from the puck. Bedard isn’t the “better prospect,” due only to his smaller size and lack of truly other-worldly skating that guaranteed McDavid would be a superstar. But he’s been more impressive, and it’s not at all clear that he is the “worse prospect.”

Bedard has the best shot I’ve ever seen, hands down

It doesn’t even look like he’s trying lmao
What is too easily forgotten about is he's doing this against kids and not NHLers! Shouldn't diminish what he's potentially capable of doing but right now Bedard is under challenged in the junior leagues and it shows!

He's the most talked about and well known prospect since Crosby, McDavid was actually relativity* "unknowns" to the general public in comparison, I mean everyone who followed the NHL or prospects knew who he was and just how great he was, but Bedard is entering that Crosby level where your mom who doesn't even follow hockey knows about him, mostly because of that wjc performance.

Crosby's hype and fame was on another level (he had the highest paying endorsement deal in all of hockey while in the Q) - but in terms of sheer fame and being known, Bedard is next to him
