Raiders had a guy shadow Bedard on the PP, essentially taking both of them out of the play and making it a 4-3 for the Pats. Pretty bizarre that they are doing that to a 16 year old.
Yeah I recorded the game because I was watching the blue Jays. I just finished watching the recording. Bedard really didn’t do much the whole game as PA effectively did all they could to take him out of the game and played him well yet he still scores that spectacular goal in the 3rd.

That’s what the greats do though. Even on off nights they still find a way to get on the score sheet and make your jaw drop.

Some mock drafts have Matvei Michkov first. It's going to be fascinating to see the run for #1.

Sure they do but if both are close in talent, and I think this will be the case come draft day, the fact that Michov might not be available immediately because he is under contract in Russia might have his ceiling at #2.

And this being the HF boards, that will set off a whole debate about which guy is really better.........

Michkov could end up better. It’s too early to know how good these players will be in the NHL.

I would be shocked if Bedard doesn’t get picked first. Canadian centers that get ES and live up to the hype go first in the draft.

Add in the contract situation with Michkov and his KHL deal, it's a no brainer if they both stay on the trajectory their on.

I'm a big fan of Michkov as well, he'll need to add size and get stronger but I think his style of play is well suited for the North American style of game. He attacks the middle of the ice intuitively and knows how to position himself in those high danger chances areas to go with exceptional lateral skating and a phenomenal shot. He’s a scoring threat nearly every shift against his peer competition.

As you noted though, Bedard is a centre who was granted ES and is completely living up to the hype. Their performances against each other and overall play at the U-18s this spring made me confident that the future of hockey is in very good hands.

Kid is absolutely insane. Goes 1st this year too if he was eligible, no disrespect to Shane Wright.

I’m not sure if I agree about that. Wright is bigger and will stick at center. There are still questions about Bedard’s size and if he will play center. Bedard is the better offensive player, but is he that much better offensively?

His release of shot is unique...he gets that off quick, fast and near his body. Good luck goalies stopping that.
