This kid is going to be one to watch. Very dangerous centre with good speed, good shot/release and seems to have some decent grit to his game. Listed at 6'0 and 199 as a 16 year old.

Saw him live for the second time last night and he continues to impress. Very dangerous offensive player and is likely the most skilled forward to come through the Rebels since RNH.

He was the 21st overall pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft by Red Deer.

Point totals aren't great so far this year as a rookie, but he's constantly creating his own chances, which is a good sign. Also just recently put up 3 goals and 4 points in 5 games with Team Pacific at the World Under 17's.

He looks a solid all around player seems responsible in d zone aswell next year he will have a huge leap in production most likely would live the habs to draft him also my friends cousin

It looks like Red Deer has some really nice players coming up in the system with Connor, Haydn and Adam Musil.

They could make a nice jump next year.

Connor Bleackley, F - Red Deer Rebels [2014]

Another player from the Rebs that is worth noting for the 2014 draft.

He is a two-way player with fantastic work ethic and toughness for a 16 year old. I don't know how good his offensive game will be, but he is already accomplished player in all three zones. Also has slick hands and good shot. Reminds me of Ryan O'Reilly.

Conner Bleakley (2014 Draft Eligible)

Ive seen this guy play a number of times for Red Deer and ive came away pretty impressed with him. Can anyone else shed some light on him?

Sam Cosentino of Sportsnet calls him "a star in the making". I agree. Kid is a fine talent.

Why is he falling in the rankings early on? I figure he should be climbing.

He's not falling ... I have him about 29th on my list. And some other players are really rising too, but he's really good. Late 1st round, early 2nd.

Not falling too much. He didn't have the best Ivan Hlinka camp, which is why he fell from our Preliminary to October from 20-28. But I can assure you he is a turning a lot of heads. Top 20 IMO

People tried to compare Horvat to Bergeron last year, but I saw him as more of a Kopitar type with less offense, big skilled and all-around. If there's a prospect I've seen lately that garners a Bergeron comparison it is Conner Bleackley. He is all over the ice and depended on for both PK and PP, top unit for both. Takes all the important draws and plays a ton some games, in excess of 25 minutes I've seen him play in overtime games. Skating almost reminds me a bit of Nuge in that he's a bit hunched over, very quick all over the ice and he's always around the puck from every side.

Great skill with the puck as well, excellent anticipation and playmaking abilities, very smooth out there just operates like a well-oiled machine at 17 years old. I personally think he should be way higher on some lists - on Craig Button's list he is like around 50th or something IIRC, a little ridiculous.

Size? Smart? Character? Sharks are keeping tabs I'm sure.

Funny you should mention. I was just saying to Leafs fans the other day how much he reminds me of Pavelski. A little bit bigger (6'0 to 5'11), but similar type of game. I hope he makes it to my team.;)

Pick an elite two way forward and you've got CB whether it's Toews, Bergeron, O'Reilly. This guy is top 10. No idea how late first round is possible. He's a complete player without the customary limited offensive ceiling.

I see him right below Dal Colle/Perlini but above Draisaitl. His production will determine how close he can get to McCann and maybe even surpass him. Keep it up!

No offense, but you keep on saying these ridiculous things. Draisaitl is better than Dal Colle, Perlini, and Bleackley.

I would be shocked if he somehow went in the top 10. He is a really good player, but I don't think he has the offensive talent to be a top 10 pick.

What's ridiculous is you think it's ridiculous! It's my opinion. Players always prove their projections wrong year after year, so the smug attitudes from scouts and fans really are unnecessary.

Have you followed the O? Dal Colle is a constant force, and has just as good offensive toolbox as LD. Plus, he's a better skater. At some point, when you produce and you beat a guy in attributes, you are the better player (MDC).

Bleackley on the other hand is a player. I didn't like him at first, but he is a very safe bet to be a good hockey player. Right now, there are flashier skillets out there, but he is still putting up points just like them and I think he has it in him to develop. Remember, we said two way forward. At the end of the day, I think you may be right that his upside has somewhat of a cap, but a guy with virtually no flaws and producing more than 1.25 ppg deserves his pie. Unless...

You are a fanboy of someone else, don't approve, or are just resistant to change in seeing different draft boards and lists..

As long as ISS can rank Blake effing Clarke 13th overall in October, I'll stand strong in my argument that CB is a top pick.
