My hope is Marner convinces his best friend to follow him to where ever he goes. This team needs a resetYes but again, we're speculating.
Marner is walking most likely for nothing.
It sucks but let's see what's next.

Compared to thisRemember how much you knew in your heart of hearts Marchand was bsing psychological warfare last year.
Compared to this.
STEP ON THEIR THROATS.
I heard the board is meeting tomorrow so Friday maybe? Late Friday news dump so everyone forgets things by Monday?any idea when is Treliving expected to speak to media?

Sure, but that doesn't mean Treliving is good just because he isn't Dubas.
If the offers for an underpaid RW (on an expiring contract and looking for a sizable raise) who is primarily a goal scorer and produces in the playoffs wasn't good enough, what about an overpaid RW (on an expiring contract and looking for a sizable raise) who isn't a goal scorer and disappears in the playoffs? What makes you think all the offers would be trash? That makes no sense whatsoever.
If Vegas is looking to add fire power for the playoffs, why would they want Marner? If I had to bet money, I would think Vegas is going to look to add some fire power after looking limp in the last 2 playoff series.
I think we could do maybe a sign and trade or just trade his rights like Guentzel's last year, if we get a 3rd round pick, yay.
San Jose and Chicago would be stupid to pay up 13M to Marner when Celebrini and Bedard contracts are coming.

Marner still a peremiter player. That’s the reason for his playoff deficienciesThey believe they'll get more out of him then we did, less pressure in Vegas than Toronto.
Less fan/media pressure for sure, but just as much from opposing players. They believe they'll get more out of him then we did, less pressure in Vegas than Toronto.

Other teams only watch the regular season and not the playoffs?I'm just telling you what other teams are thinking, they see 100 pt player that's 28 years old and good defensively.
He's gonna get paid regardless of what anyone on this message board thinks.
Other teams only watch the regular season and not the playoffs?
Regular season production will make teams believe in the possibility of that transferring to the playoffs (which may explain why Toronto has been hesitant to move off of its core). Those players have also been "bad" to an extent that's at least partially relative to the salaries they've been pulling in.Other teams only watch the regular season and not the playoffs?
Absolutely a team desperate to make the playoffs would be interested. You're really gonna make me post some positive Marner stuff eh?
He's got 13 pts in 13 GP in the playoffs this year, not what I would consider worth 13-14M but for other teams that have had zero regular season success and would want to get to the playoffs, he's fine.
Mike Johnson isn't someone I necessarily agree with a lot but on the drive in they talked about Shanny's tenure and while there is definitely disappointment with it, other teams in this league would have been happy to make the playoffs consistently with a couple round wins. It is pretty sad abut then you see Buffalo with their playoff draught and I get it.
Absolutely a team desperate to make the playoffs would be interested.
But the start of the conversation was "a team looking for playoff firepower", and that's all I was questioning.
He's not 0 pts in 13GP
He's underwhelming for the salary but isn't a complete ghost, he can add to a team.
Who are we talking about here?If the offers for an underpaid RW (on an expiring contract and looking for a sizable raise) who is primarily a goal scorer and produces in the playoffs wasn't good enough, what about an overpaid RW (on an expiring contract and looking for a sizable raise) who isn't a goal scorer and disappears in the playoffs?
That doesn't necessarily mean "all the offers would be trash", but the question was 'what if".
