Not sure how reliable this guy is, but Pronman responded to this thread and he seems to be published. Haven't seen the quote elsewhere.
Agree with the guy who said he's like Stepan.
IMO he could get an opportunity with Brassard expected to be out 1-2 months. If Mac misses or does not return its another opportunity.
Hoffman Turris Stone
Mac Brass Ryan
Smith Pageau Dzingel
Pyatt Thompson Burrows
White
The Sens won't keep him up as a 13th forward and not play him. He also has to beat out Nick Paul who is knocking on the door as well.
I think he is up and down this year and obviously the better he does when he's up the more chances he will get.
Boucher likes his vets , so he will really have to make the most of his minutes to earn his trust and get more ice.
IMO he is NHL ready.
I think Brown gets the chance to fill in for Brass first since he has a deadline after 9 games.
But other then that I agree with your analysis
I would be shocked and disappointed to see Brown anywhere close to the NHL this year. He just came off of an awful post-draft Junior season and less then inspiring development camps.
This past World Junior showcase (or whatever the tournament was) was the first positive stretch of consistency and strong performances from Brown since we've drafted him really and I hope he can continue to build off of that, just not at the NHL level yet.
I really have a hard time seeing Colin White beating out Nick Paul for a potential roster spot this season. I think Nick showed that he was the most NHL ready forward prospect in the recent development camp, he obviously has NHL ready size, and has a bunch of pro experience (relative to White). Wouldn't be shocked to see White beat him out, but at this point, I gotta lean in Paul's favour.
On Brown, it depends on his camp, if he has a good camp you absolutely reward him with some games early. Who cares about how his year was, he battled injuries all year, and finished strong.
On Paul, He has shown the exact same thing the last 3 dev camps.. He needs to actually prove it against the pro's, which he has struggled to do
Fair enough on Brown, it's just hard to expect a strong NHL level camp from him when he's been less than great against far lower level camps/competition.
Also a fair point on, Paul. I couldn't quite re-call the performance from his previous camps. With that said though, Nick had a real nice finish to the season in Bingo and seemed to carry that forward in the development camp. Keeping both of those things in mind, perhaps he's finally found something that works for him. The training camp will be telling.

The surgery toook place on June 6th and Brassard is already working out, which is a very good sign. The Sens are hoping Brassard will be ready to start the season in October, but the initial recovery time put his return a few weeks later than that. Stay tuned for further updates throughout the summer. [Source 25 Jun 2017]
uhm.... Brass isn't expected to miss nearly that much time, in fact, the team is currently hoping he'll be ready to start the seasons.

Where would a few weeks fit into 1-2 months.
re:
At less than 1 month? A few weeks means a small number of weeks, 1 or two maybe three into the season (it also implies less than a month, otherwise they'd have said a month) and on top of that, it's the high end, so he's expected to miss 0 weeks to maybe 3 or 4 at most, not 4-8 weeks.
Semantics I suppose, but even if you go by the initial 4-5 months timeline, the high end had him missing about 1 month and the low end about a week and a half, so I'm not sure where the extra month is coming from. He seems to be trending towards the low end of the recovery timeline, based on what I've read.
Anyways, I suspect Brassards recovery will give White exposure during camp and pre-season, and hopefully he can prove he belongs earning himself a spot in the roster (likely on the wing). If he can show he's ready for 3rd line duties with Pageau and Hoffman, we could have a pretty deep team.

I'm really not sure who the odd man out would be if White cracks the team. Dzingel and Pyatt come to mind, more likely Dzingel, and I doubt Burrows or Thompson sit.
It might open the door for a trade.
I still don't think Brown gets any games at all this season. He's not ready and we have a few guys that are ready to step in (White and Paul).
