I'd imagine AHL would be ideal for him though.

I think it would be but it’s not on the table, I’m sure he could play in the NHL right now but I don’t think you just want him surviving when he gets there, you want him to thrive.

I think this extra year in the WHL gives him a chance to work on all the things he needs to do to become a consistent player over 82 games.. be unequivocally the man on his WHL team, perform at the WJC in a prime role, take on a leadership role in Jr, possibly get traded to a contender and go on a deep run. I think he’s going to end up bypassing the AHL next year altogether and just go straight to the AHL.

Whoops, I thought this was the Blichfeld thread!! In Glass's case, yeah, I think it's better for him to stay in the WHL than jump to the NHL. You're absolutely right.

Yeah I think Blichfeld could probably play in the AHL right now but coming off a couple of seasons that weren’t the greatest statistically, maybe they wanted to see him dominate at the lower level first... especially if they think he has potential as an NHL scorer at some point, he’s not going to be put into the same positions in the AHL as he gets in the WHL. I can see why they sent him back for another season but looking back, maybe the AHL would have been better...

Maybe it’s just a coincidence but it seems to me like the Sharks have no problem sending 20 year old Europeans back to Jr for their final season... they did it with Wiederer, Abeltshauser and now Blichfeld, it seems to happen often enough with the Sharks that maybe it’s some sort of organizational philosophy they have?

Went down with a terrible looking knee injury where his left knee buckled 90* perpendicular to how its supposed to bend, grabbed it immediately and rolled in pain. I hope its like the Pettersson injury where it looks worse than it is, but he easily could have torn a ligament.

That’s horrible...

Trying to look on the bright side, Glass has never relied on his skating to be successful, so hopefully this won’t have a devastating impact on his career.

Injuries are awful regardless of who they happen to, but it makes me sick seeing young developing guys go down like that before they even hit the bigs. Hopefully it’s not as bad as it looked.

I guess a silver lining is that it’s easier to recover fully when you’re 19 even opposed to just a couple years later when you’re 23-24. Rooting for him.

you never want to see top prospect nor any prospect being injured, no matter who they play for. At the end of the day we are fan of the sport, the better the competition is the nicer it is. Hopefully he'll get back soon and exacly where he left.

Made his return to the lineup tonight and scored an empty net goal in a 2-0 win over Red Deer. Didnt look 100%, a bit of rust offensively, but his typical high work rate on the back check and defensive zone was prevalent

Had 3 primary assists tonight, the rust is off from his injury. All 3 plays were Cody finding Joachim Blichfeld open as he enters a vulnerable spot in the defense, showcasing his trademark playmaking ability and how effective he can be when he has a linemate that can think the game and see the game at a pro level.

Can we expect him to be on Nashville 3th line next year?

Vegas, but I think he has a great chance at the job as he is a well rounded center that impacts the game offensively and defensively. Perhaps he starts the year in the AHL as an adjustment period to pro hockey but I would be very surprised if he is not on the Vegas roster by Christmas time.

I wonder where he will slot in on Vegas’ roster.
Right now it’s:

Marchessault - Wild Bill - Smith
Pirri - Stasney - Tuch
Patches - Eakin - Lindberg
Reaves - Bellemare - Carrier

Definitely some room on the wing for him. I just do not see where he slots in as a center.

Where's Haula?, i know that he is currently injured, but he was one of Knights most important players last season
When healthy, he is still a top 6 player.
