2015 had a crazy good top 5. This year has 3 guys that would be in that company. But I think the next tier is stronger and for longer. I like the 4-11 here more than a lot of the next tier from last draft.

This draft heavily lacks depth past 20 or so. I'd also say that it had better D and centers in the 4-11 spot, but is stacked on the wing.

This year isn't that special, 2015 and 2013 were clearly better. I can't think of a recenr draft outside of possibly 2012 or 2011 where he is a top 6 lock.

Thanks. I'm probably getting over-excited due to the Gaudreau, P.Kane, and Parise comparisons!!;)
Cheers!

This years draft has a clear top 10 or so, but after that it's very average.

To be fair I had someone tell me Bracco's floor was Gaudreau last summer. If he was projected to be that good he would be a top 4 pick no question..

For people who watch the USDP, how does he compare to Larkin, Milano, Bracco, Tuch, and Roslovic? Seems like some of the recent USDP players have had trouble translating production to the OHL or NCAA (Bracco, Milano) while others (White/Larkin) have done so with great ease.

Bracco and Milano still produced well but I thought they'd do much better.

At this stage he's the better of the bunch offensively in my opinion by a decent margin.

You know if he wasn't small he'd probably in the conversion for top 5.

Should be a top 10 pick regardless. I guess it wouldn't surprise me if someone stole him in the 15-20 range as teams keep passing on these USHL/USDP kids. Teams must be scared off by the level of competition that they face?

They have a large amount of NCAA games and scouts are not down on the USHL at all. USDP is also highly valued and produces players which go very high in the draft, if he slips its due to size thats all. Larkin slipped because he played behind Eichel as the 2C, when he had the talent to be #1. I bet no one thought he was as good offensively as he was.
