C Caleb Desnoyers - Moncton Wildcats, QMJHL (2025 Draft)

Thought he looked really good overall, for a guy who hadn't played in a couple weeks. 75% on faceoffs, consistently engaged and impactful every shift. His line was buzzing despite losing Pekarcik because of a fight earlier in the game.

He's always finding himself in the right spot to get loose pucks, intercept passes, apply pressure or support teammates. He initiates great offensive sequences, but he's not yet great at finishing them. Needs to work on getting his shot off quicker.

He’s going to be a coaches dream.

Whoever gets him will be very lucky, absolute gamer.

He the smartest guy in the ice every time he steps out there, guys as smart as him do well in the NHL.

This is the only player in this draft I would be comfortable with moving both of Montreal’s first to move up to snatch him if he’s still available at pick 7-8-9.

He’s got all the tools to be a two-way force in this league. Reminds me a lot of PLD but with a better defensive awareness mind.

McKenzie: Like pretty much every year, the scouts are enamored of the 2025 crop of talent available in the top 10. Actually, make that the top 15. Beyond that, though, the consensus seems to be that the class of 2025 lacks depth of talent.

Seems to me picks around 16-17 wont be hot commodities at the draft. And Desnoyers will be gone top 10.

As of this morning, Montreal held pick 13 and 16.
